Yeah this entire contest was flawed tremendously. I was at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, and the band Inept was probably the worst band to have played that night. The most impressive act was the band Coventry they opened up the show, and if it was based on crowd enthusiasm and participation they beat the shit out of everyone. Crown Atlantic was good too. Inept is like post numetal we want to be Atreyu or something...idk

The show that day was confusing and draining for those of us that did play. I'd love to win, but after all the drama? God. I know this is the first year for this contest...but who organized this? I mean...really...if judges weren't going to ven announce the winner of the show or base it on the performance, what was the point of giving us a show? Couldn't the whole thing have been done online? And sooner? So we actually had time to plan for the Bamboozle show if, God Forbid, we get to play?

We just played this show. Their were no judges. Not sure how they determined the winner. The draw was small for all the bands each had about 15 to 20 fan. Contests should never be judged on draw. To be honest I felt every band was good but each a different style. Well i cant really judge my own band but it felt like a good show. Best of luck to all of the bands. I dont understand how an online voting can determine who plays the show? Couldnt someone just keep creating fake email addresses and vote for there band? HH is by far one of the worst live bands ever, no questions asked and if you even, for one second, took the stick outta your ass and payed attention to the show you would see that Inept is great. If you took a second and listened to their recordings as well you would hear their talent... Oh and incase you wanted to know, unlike HH, Inept plays all their own instruments on their CD...

this is amazing. i'm good friends with the guys in Veara, in fact i have been putting them on shows for a while now. The new music they are pumping out is AMAZING. One of the only LOCAL bands whose cd I can pop in and know the words to every track, I appreciate everyone who has been saying awesome things about them on here.

As someone who enjoys inepts' recordings, seeing them for the first time live (this weekend w/ spitalfield) wasn't too impressive. The lead singer does a good job of interacting with the crowd, and the music / live performance is pretty good. the vocals are not good. It seemed like unless he was going up to hit a note, he was always off key, and the harmonies were bad, very very bad. I wonder if on the recordings if their lead singer does all the back-up parts as well b/c I don't see how the recordings can sound that much better than their live show. If I were them (and I'm not, so whatever) I would invest in vocal lessons, both singularly and as a group. I think if they could get their vocals sounding better, that would help their cause greatly, and stop me from going to the bar, bath room, merch tables during their set.
