Smith has been officially canceled after three episodes, 6 were produced.

Kidnapped has been movied to saturday nights and told to finish its story in 13 (or 10 more) episodes.

I saw this coming for smith, after episode one the show got really boring, but kidnapped was great.

To you hero fans it got picked up for a full a season. And Jericho also looks to be getting a full season run.

smith was one of the new shows i actually watched every week. that wasn't gonna last long though. nothing really excited me about it, i just watched it for something to do.

i tivo'ed the first episode of kidnapped, but never watched it. it didn't seem to interesting to me, but i like jeremy sisto, so figured i'd give it a try. no need to now.

i'm surprised there aren't more so far to get the axe. most the time there's no waiting. this season seems pretty strong so far though.

I've been pretty impressed with a lot of the new shows this season.

I always figured Kidnapped was a Without A Trace rip-off.

No Studio 60 there yet though, so I'm happy.

Studio 60 will run for a few seasons, but then run out of steam. It reminds me of Sports Night, it started out as a show that was already a few years in, the characters were fairly well developed already, and so it's hard to continue to make compelling plot lines much past a few years. The West Wing was kind of the same way, but because he was the President, you could do just about anything to shift the plot.

I'm so happy about Heroes. That show has so much potential.

it seems that it might not do that well because the ratings continuously drop. part of that is definately because who wants to see matthew perry not playing his character from friends? i personally dont watch this show, never have, and probably never will, but just based on it's ratings it doesn't look like it's going to do as well as you say, so i think i can see it getting canned... if not i'll bite my tounge.

i think nbc will be more willing to wait this one out though and give it more of a fair chance than they normally would. considering how well matthew perry and aaron sorkin have both done for the network, they have more room for error and a better grace period. they're not gonna rush to pull the plug on this.

plus, the way the show's set up, it will be incredibally easy to use marquee guests on a regular basis without stretching the stories too much. it is also setup that characters can be added or subtracted extremely easy. so if ratings get stale, there's plenty of room to play and create buzz again.

i've enjoyed the first few weeks, but i'm scared they'll lose my interest fairly quick. i've never been a sorkin fan, so i'm not too familiar with how his shows tend to run. but there's a lot of opportunities for love traiangles and forbidden romances in this show. and if it gets to the point where the show is 90% made up of that, they'll lose me very quickly.

I think a lot of people's perceptions was that this would be the Matthew Perry from Friends. Instead, it's Matthew Perry with talent, and people are weirded out since none of the others are there to back him up. He made a career being part of a group, so this show would always fair badly with some longtime Friends fans.

Besides which, with the huge cast and big names, it must cost a lot of money to make this show. I'd be surprised if it paid off for NBC (Although I will be rooting for it).
