imo, the real MVP of the Mets has to be Carlos Delgado...not only did he hit 35+ HR's and 110+ RBI's but he took the pressure off of Carlos Beltran. Last year Beltran always felt like he had to do everything for the team, therefore he would try to hard and swing at everything. This year Delgado gets brought in to bat behind him which took the pressure off Beltran and also forced pitchers to give Beltran pitches to hit . You can say that Delgado added 25 HRs and 38 RBIs to Beltran from last year to this year. Yes Reyes is exciting and sparks alot of the Mets' rallys, but Delgado takes pressure off of his teammates, forces pitchers to give hitable pitches to everyone else in the lineup, and is one helluva mentor, friend, and all-around guy in the clubhouse
