What are some essential albums for any music lover?
I feel like there's a lot of music I've missed out on (old and new). Help me out?
you can check out my last.fm (http://www.last.fm/user/summabee) to get an idea of my music taste.
Thanks!

EDIT: It's a little overwhelming if you just post artist/band names. I need somewhere to start... like, an album specifically :)

The Stooges, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Billie Holiday, and that's just a few that I would consider essential haha. That's not even touching what would be "essentials" of this little "scene" of ours.

London Calling by The Clash easily. And actually, any Doors album. The Beatles too but you already knew that.

I don't really like The Doors to be honest... I never thought they were very good. The Beatles of course haha and I'll look into that Clash album thanks :)

I totally understand why you don't like the Doors. They're one of those bands you either love or hate. I actually have more. For essential classic pop-rock, go with the Live at Budokan album by Cheap Trick, Boston's self-titled album, #1 Record/Radio City by Big Star, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me by The Cure and many others that I can't name. I love the classics.

your welcome. If your bands have even a hint of emo of pop punk they probably owe something to that album
