regardless of what anyone says "Anthem" will be one of my favourite cd's to drop this year. I've loved Less Than Jake since their first album and I love their latest. Every album they have put out amazes me and they are simply brilliant. I'm aware they aren't a ska band, as the newest cd leans towards the pop/punk sound. But that doesnt matter to me. The new cd is great, and the new video and single I love as well. I will always support less than jake as long as they keep making the music my ears want to hear. And with this album, they're still doing it. I bought the CD yesterday (i had a burnt copy before) and i can't believe how much I like it. Less Than Jake is my favourite band and they always will be.

Its not even so much the fact that they changed music styles...it just isn't that great the new stuff. The lyrics are good I will give it that, but Less Than Jake fails to experiment with new melodies and keys. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Less Than Jake withh all my heart and always will, but the new album and the hype behind it is not all it was cracked up to be.

any album released on a major label like warner bros. is sure to have tons of hype about it. thats what they want it to have. even if it really isnt THAT great. But my opinion is the complete opposite of your's. I love the new album, the lyrics are great, the songs are catchy and fun, and even though the horns have been cut back immensely i don't think they will sound like how they did on this new album, on their next release. I think they're just testing out their sound with less horns. LESS THAN JAKE OWNS!

I also feel bad for the horn playes. Whatshisface quit I'm not 100% sure as to why but maybe that had something to do with it. I'm in a ska band and we play a lot of rock stuff adn we try to keep the horns in it no matter what or how basic the riffs are it just adds a very nice fuller sound to the music.

Yeah the horns sound awesome when less than jake uses them. But like I said for this album I think the band just tried cutting back on them to see how it sounds. I happen to be listening to it right now. And im reading the booklet that comes with the cd, they dont even have a trumpet player any more? Only a sax, and a trombone.
