I love his radio show on ESPN radio. I did a forum search and I found three people who hate him and none who like him. He's hilarious. Sure, he is pretty adamant in the things he believes, but that's good in a radio host. I don't always agree, but I'm a big boy and I can handle not agreeing with a radio host. The best part of his show is when he talks about general things men should never do, like wear a sports jersey to a steakhouse, or wear under armor as clothes. If you like sports and drive in the mornings, listento his show on espn radio. I think he's on from 9AM - 1PM eastern.
What do you guys think of him?

you probably found something I said, but anyways, I listen to him on the way to school every morning
It's not just that I disagree with him, it's just he's a pompous ass who will repeat his shit 50 times and then not legitimately argue with someone when a caller has a good point. He'll just repeat their statements with a stupid voice, hang up, and then continue on his rant.
When he's not talking about sports, or when he's not being a pretentious idiot, he's pretty entertaining though.

Sometimes he's a bit pompous, but I think it's kind of sarcastic sometimes. He probably takes that angle because you can't always come out with a good point right on the spot. However, I think he's very intelligent a very quick thinker. And I agree that he's really repetitive, but I think that's so people who are just tuning in can figure out what's going on. I think he could have a cool show on TV mixing sports with real life man situations. And when he does his nerd voice, it's pretty hilarious.
One time, he talked about GQ magazine's list of things no man should do after they're thirty, and I nearly died laughing, and he added his own that were hilarious as well. "After 30, you should never make the symbol for 'westside' in a group wedding photo." "You should never exlaim, 'What's up, whores!' as you approach a group of friends."

i thought he still did his radio show?
EDIT: nevermind. not since april. apparently it'll start back up after the football season though. technically it's on 'hiatus.'
he hasn't been carried around here, so i never got to listen. he needs to be back on espn radio, not locally out of washington.

The worst radio guy for ESPN Radio is Mike Gill on the Atlantic City station, he's the local guy. He is such a retarded homer even I can't stand him. In May, he guaranteed the Phillies would win the division by 10 games.
Also, twice he has been caught on the air cursing while the ESPN updates come on because the moron didn't shut off his mic.

I do really enjoy the Big Show. I don't know about Steve knowing what he's talking about all the time. My buddy who knows more about baseball than anyone I know (and my friends and I all love baseball and follow it closely) always finds errors in things Steve says and wants to call in. For example, Steve was saying that the Angels should acquire some player that I forget right now, and Steve's main reason was because the guy was a lefty and my friend was listening that day and said, "No, he's a righty." That said, I still love the show. Steve is just funny and wacky. I loved when he said he would run in the L.A. marathon, but only if his mother said he could, and since he had foot surgery in the past, he knew his mom would say no, and they called her on the air and she said no and Steve was like, "Damn! I really wanted to do it, but mom said no!"
I also called in and got on air with Gary Miller and Demarco Farr (sp?). It was cool. I said that the UCLA Bruin's basketball team could still call their season a success, even though they lost in the NCAA championship because nobody would have thought they'd get that far. Demarco basically was stuck in his opinion that it's a failure unless you win it all. What a tard haha.

Mike and the Mad Dog is so funny when people call up with hockey questions, because they hate hockey. Chris Russo thought Tomas Vokoun was a skater. When he got injured last year he said, "They'll have other players to pick up his scoring load." Mike Francesca was like, "He's a goalie." So everything was quiet and then they just went to the next call.

hahah yeah Steve says some wrong things sometimes but most of the time he's not going on a rant about something he's completely wrong about like herd... I disagree most of the time when they talk about the Angels, steve was saying it'd be a disaster for them to get ARod the other day...

Yeah they were talking about it yesterday and Ervin Santana, Chone Figgins, and a prospect for Arod is a steal. I wouldn't give up more than one of our young pitchers. It's funny how teams want Ervin more than Jared Weaver. They have Colin call in to the big show every now and then and he agrees that they should get Arod if they can.

Agh, Santana is a bit overrated. His K rates have been less than spectacular, but I still like him a lot, especially if he goes to the NL.
I don't think teams want Ervin more, they just realize Weaver is absolutely untouchable. There is no way in hell the Angels are trading him.

Well I think the word is that Ervin may have more potential....something about Weaver throwing across his body too much. I think they both have a ton of potential, but at least for now, I'd take Weaver any day. Oh, and did you know that Ervin's given name is actually Johan? haha, I guess he decided to go by Ervin since there's already some guy named Johan Santana.

Jim Rome used to have a TV show and he had the former Rams and Saints quarterback Jim Everett on the show. Chris had been struggling in his career (I think he was on the L.A. Rams at the time, big surprise he was struggling) and Jim Rome was a dick back then too, so Rome decided to keep calling Everett "Chris" because there is a famous female tennis player who was popular back then named Chris Everett. Jim Everett put up with it once, but after a couple times he said, "You know, I bet you don't call me Chris again..." and Rome said, "I bet I do.........Chris." Everett then flips the table and goes after Rom and pushes him down and is restrained by some guys on the set.

aside from College Football, he may be the least knowledgeable sports talk host we have in America...I listened to him talk about other issues (though he opened the show with his "Pre-season College Football Top 10" in June, real timely), and he has no idea what he is talking about. Even the NFL alludes him as a game, it's amazing
I think he tried to talk about Golf, but I'm not sure the concept that a lower score wins actually hit home with him
to me, jim rome is the best at sports talk. that probably puts me in a minority though
actually, by the ratings, you'd be in the majority, he is heads and tails above assclowns like Cowherd

apparently...it's set in contrast even more by the fact he stands between Mike and Mike and Dan Patrick...who in combination can come up with more compelling shows every day.
It's not by accident taht Cowherd does all the college football stuff for ESPN when they do this Full Circle stuff with football, he knows his shit there...but he has a very weak knowledge otherwise of sports, and he competes with Rome for an audience, and since Jim Rome knows volumes more than he does, it's a huge contrast
In terms of major name sports talk shows...he is the one I respect the least as a whole...since there are a number of sports (trust me, I nearly pissed myself laughing at his attempts at college basketball analysis) he knows nothing about

I personally can't listen to Jim Rome. He has huge gaps of silence. And Colin Cowherd definitely is best at talking about college football, but I still think he knowns plenty about most other sports. Plus, I like the same sports in the same order as he seems to: Football, baseball, basketball, hockey. But I respect you're opinion. And you have to admit Colin's funny sometimes.
