The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

1. How did you get your band name?
The girl wanted something that sounded like "soft caress" but there's a hair remover called that, so we went with "crest." Which, as it turns out, more people think of toothpaste instead of the intended royal crest of a wave.

2. How did this band get started?
Two roommates, a boy and a girl, decided to start writing songs about the girls they were in love with and enjoyed sleeping with.

3. What bands are you influenced by?
Randy Newman (Little Criminals era), Master Lady, Summer Darling...really anyone who sounds how David Lynch feels, but, in a major key.

4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
Jesus & Mary Chain because we like their sound and they probably knew how to have fun on the road, and Best Coast because someone in our group has a crush on Bethany.

5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
Sorry, we are not plushophiles and/or furverts.

6. Why should people listen to your band?
Because we know what a furvert is.

7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
"Summer Breeze" by Seals & Crofts. We would rather curate a GH/RB video game than have any of our own songs in there.

8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
God, because even R. Kelly still thanks him. Also; R. Kelly.

9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
Bands who who attempted to sign to majors and ended up calling it quits would be offered a contract that, though restricting them from ever pursuing music again, allows them to be the new taste makers, and thus gain the connections to the major labels they so desired in the first place. However, those connections can only be used to get other bands that they genuinely enjoy good contracts and crazy good PR. Like, "cardboard cutouts in Best Buy" crazy good. They are like A&R guys, but without regard to the finance office. Also, it means American Idol would shut the fuck up finally.

10. Memorable tour experience?
Literally running into The Black Eyed Peas in Oregon during 2004. Their tour manager was not in a good mood that day. Fergie decided to take some rage out on a local Wendy's. Pretty sure that guy with the hair was reading Susan J. Douglas.

11. What does AP.net mean to you?
So far, about 78%. Thanks, Travis Parno!

12. What is your favorite song to play?
"Heartless" by Kanye West. Surprising live response.

13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
That is a really great question. We might have to take some time to think about that and get back to you. I'm sure someone would say Berlin, Germany, while others might just say "trying to sleep on Venice Beach." (UPDATE: After asking, one person did say something different; Ann Arbor, MI. Kind of unexpected.)

14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
Devo, Sunny Day Real Estate, Pavement, The Pixies, Blur, The Police...Pretty much all the bands that are reuniting.

15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Optional mind control, for obvious reasons.

16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
Well, we've mated. So...yes? The tour we did with Radiohead might of helped a bit. We couldn't have mated without them.

17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
The Peacock is our spirit animal.

18. What's your favorite holiday?
Independence Day. Ironically, of course, because we're all married.

19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Who has spare time anymore?

20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
We can best anyone at pinball. Any machine, any time.
