I fucking despise them. They have the nerve to shit talk Thursday and call OK GO "not rock and roll". The only radio station I've ever heard them on is the fucking top 40 channel, and "All The Hits" Q-100. There's a thing on their forums to vote to get them on TRL for Christ's sake.

Yeah, my friend and I were flipping through channels one day and came across this band's video. I had heard of Hinder, but never heard the music. Until they showed the band, I thought that it was Nickelback. I don't hate them, though. They've done nothing to me. There is so much shitty music on radio/TV these days, I'm used to it. I'll reserve my hate for others. I DO pity them, though. They are most likely proud of their music, and genuinely think that it is good stuff. They try to tear down other bands? Even more reason to pity them.

This was a blog I posted after I watched the video for the first time:

Seriously, this band sucks. If you like them, you're buying in to everything that is wrong with the America. I can see why Al Queida hates us, we promote diseases like this and bring it home to our children. It's like we took the worst parts of the crappiest rock bands of our generation.. i.e. nickelback, alter bridge, crossfade, and anything that Scott Stapp was involved in, put it in a blender, digitally put that on a cd, and then marketed that junk to kids that will buy a cd cause mtv or vh1 tells them its good. Now I don't hate them because they're on the radio or because I'm trying to pretend I'm a "scenester" or anything, I hate them cause were cramming more crap into an already crowded genre of *** rock. I mean one nickelback and alterbridge is ok, we need bands that suck so other people with brains know what not to sound like but come on, can't we find better music to listen to. I can't stand the singer first off, not just because his voice sounds like a car alarm but because he's a freaking moron. He goes around critiquing other singers when his voice is one of the worst today. Now I guess the main problem to this "lips of an angel" song is that its a lame power ballad. I think we had enough of those made in the 80s to last us another 20 years so its too soon to try to force that back to the masses. Now I think I really figured out why this song is doing so well, the video was directed by Nigel Dick. With a name like that you're bound to remember any other videos he's directed. So much so that I could name half of late 90s pop and he probably had a part of it. I think the main example would be half of Britney Spears' number of videos with her dancing around like an idiot. Now don't get me wrong, I and about 95% of America thought she was gorgeous before she became white trash and he helped out by making her wear crazy outfits in those videos but for crying out loud when you claim to be a "real" rock band, you don't get the director from every nsync, 98 degrees, and backstreet boys video to make yours. See I think those queers just said "look, if i write a song about something i know is a bad idea, you throw in a shredtastic solo, and I'll call Nigel Dick to direct the video, I think we might just be onto something." Then Chad Kroeger from nickelback tries to sue them because they stole his idea. This scenario is if they even wrote that song themselves. We could probably blame Kroeger for this mess anyway. If it wasn't for his band, we wouldn't have this problem. He probably found these douchebags on myspace while he was stalking some 15 year olds and wanted these guys to tour with his band to get more of those girls to come to shows for his delight. I'm telling you its a vicious cycle and we're all victims to this system. I garuntee this will be on the next kidzbop album. It all just proves what a sick, sad world we live in.
I rather watch "Beautician and the Beast" than hear this song one more time.

If i remember correctly, i think in the rolling stone article, their lead singer was trying to make the statement that the amount of records a band sells= how good of a band they are.

The only thing that keeps me going every morning is knowing that they will hopefully fall off the perverbial cliff of radio very, very, soon. They got lucky with "lips of an angel" becoming a radio single. I'm sure they will probably make another album soon and they'll play the single for two weeks and then it will go away... I hope. :) I specifically don't let anyone at work play the top 40 radio station on Sirius because of bands like Hinder and Nickelback.... not that top 40 gets much better than that... haha.

They're completely ridiculous. "Get Stoned" was the only song of theirs that got big in the UK, and I think I died a little inside everytime I heard it. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind could enjoy listening to their music.
