Just because he killed a celebrity it seems his penalty is more severe (i.e. much lower chance of parole) compared to any other murderer. That's just how much society values celebrity. Sad, eh.

it's sad that if it was any normal person he killed, he'd be out already. it should be equal, regardless of john lennon's ability and talents. but, i'm glad to hear he's staying in longer. i know it's not like i knew lennon or anything...but damn man. you take a life, you serve life. and fuck the death penalty.

i agree, the death pentaly is pretty harsh. i think we should like make them donate some of their organs i death row to people who need them. take a life, give some life.

he actually hasnt been put away longer than most who are serving life sentences. the average term for a lifer is somewhere around 25 years. so hes jsut around that average time limit right now. in ten years, if he is still not paroled, i would say it was because of who he killed.
regardless, a life sentence for killing someone should be for life, no matter who the victim was.

He's mentally ill if you read up on him. A deranged fan, or so you can say. It's sad that it had to happen to John Lennon, but he was legendary even while alive... you can imagine he probably had a lot of seriously disturbed people into him.
