fbm- voyage into the unknown
I fell victim to your rage
unbearable disgrace gone up in flames
you could put a bullet to my brain
because I’m about to go insane
it’s the courage that I lack
that caused this vile aftermath
voyage into the unknown
no sign of buoyancy or sanguinity is shown
look out for the treachery bestowed
take my dignity and sow it to my soul
voyage into the unknown
resting in the dark ten feet below
creeping in silence
along what’s left of common sanity
rendering this nameless fear
that haunts all of humanity
your words are poison

That's way cool - what inspired this? ;)

nice but try to rhyme a little less to make some parts stand out more than others.

agreed. rhyming is pretty immature if you ask me. learn melody then you wont have to rhyme lyrics... the pitches will make the rhyme... i dont know if that makes sense but it makes sense to me.

yeah, and The Early November is a perfect example of a band who doesnt use rhymes.
rhymes are fine, ive written my share of rhyming songs, and my share of rhymeless songs.
i just dont like rhymes like 'sanity' and 'humanity'. and the slew of pop punk bands that rhyme all the '-ation' words. ex inspiration expiration motivation

yea he probably is... but i also have written my share of rhyming songs... its all part of a process you slowly grow out of as you write more. not having the rhyming barrier allows you to write way better stuff. but the song on this post is pretty good.

and if you want an example of maturing and growing out of having to write lyrics that rhyme. listen to deja entendu.

hey dudes thanks for the feedback. i feel you guys on the rhyming deal not being necessary all the time and i do have songs that don't rhyme. I wouldn't say its a thing of the past or it isn't cool anymore. I think simple rhyming like "i love YOU, yes i DO" or something is whack but if you're creative with it... it can be fun, sound good, and have some deep meaning to it all in one.

okay so you want to know what its about... well here it goes...
it's about being on the verge of giving up hope and whats left of personal pride and self- worth.
I'll take a few lines and explain them...
voyage into the unknown no sign of bouyancy of sanguinity is shown- this means going into a period of not knowing whats next without an optimistic attitude.
look for the treachery bestowed take my dignity and sow it to my soul- this is about how i'm always thinking the worst so "take my dignity and sow it to my soul" because i feel like i have nothing left.
creeping in silence along what's left of common sanity rendering this nameless fear that haunts all humanity-
this is about how i'm keeping to myself on the threshold of losing it trying to figure out what it is that is causing this period of desolation in my life that I'm sure many people have been through. It's a period of figuring out who i am, what my next move is, and ultimately what i want to achieve and do with my life.
your words are poison- this is from people trying to control me and tell me what to do with myself that's just making the situation worse.
it's a universal song that i think most people can relate to.
at the time i posted it as "a song NOT about a girl" because everyone was writing songs about their girlfriends or whatever.
I hope this explains everything...
Thanks for reading!
