The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

Locksley (Answered by Kai Kennedy from the band)

1. How did you get your band name?
We have quite the affinity for Robin Hood and his band of merry men. We've built our world around the things we value and the people we love, and we're resolute in our desire to make other people as merry as we are.

2. How did this band get started?
Locksley is made up of four Madisonians, but we really started in New York City.

3. What bands are you influenced by?
Our influences range from newer artists like The Strokes and The Libertines, to older acts like The Beatles and The Kinks. The early NYC punk scene - Richard Hell, The New York Dolls, The Ramones, et al. We've also worn out the entire Stax/Volt singles collection.

4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
It would be pretty amazing to tour with Hendrix in '67, I imagine we'd get bowled over every night and love it. Touring with The Hives was great, we'd love to do that again. It would be an interesting experience to tour with a band like MGMT, we're also huge fans of Feist.

5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
If I was a furry, I'd be a lion, because why would you be anything BUT a lion?!? Also, they have shorter hair, and NYC is hot, and I get furrious when I'm too hot. Sorry, furious.

6. Why should people listen to your band?
A lot of bands will say that EVERYONE will like their music. This is not necessarily true for us. Only people who like the following things should listen to Locksley:

? Laughter.
? Joy.
? Dancing.
? Making out.
? Being In Love.
? Letting loose.
? Getting down.
? Getting up.
? Mending broken hearts.
There aren't too many more requisites than that. If you checked any of the boxes, you will probably love Locksley.

7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
From a guitar player's perspective, I'd say "One More Minute" and "The Whip" are perfect songs for Rock Band. We had three songs featured in the last version, and they were absolute(punk)ly impossible for me to play. It's a little embarrassing.

8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
If we won a Grammy, we would thank our manager/producer, Guy Benny. It would be a very short acceptance speech.

9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
If I could change one thing about the music industry (and there are SO many to choose from) I would make Locksley a very, very huge band.

10. Memorable tour experience?
We've had a lot of memorable tour experiences, but I'd say playing with Ray Davies still stands up as the best for me. Playing the solo on "You Really Got Me" is a memory I'll never forget.

11. What does Absolute Punk.net mean to you?
Absolute Punk is a very special place to hear the music you love and the music you never knew you'd love. The open attitude and the format create a very unique place for fans of good music.

12. What is your favorite song to play?
My favorite song to play is "21st Century". I really love that song, and I get to dance around like a crazy person.

13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
My favorite vacation spot has been Capetown, South Africa, but anywhere with a beach and no cell phones is ideal.

14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
The Beatles and Bob Dylan are my perfect childhood soundtrack.

15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
My super power would be flying, bar none.

16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
I don't feel Locksley has "made it", but I'm willing to acknowledge my pride in the amazing things we've achieved so far. We have a lot more to offer the world, and I think everyone else will know before us when we've actually "made it".

17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
We're pretty open with our fans, but some things that they don't know about us:
Sam is an absolutely incredible driver. I'm talking "Transporter" caliber.
Jesse has a cat named Billie Holiday, who he talks to. A lot.
Jordan makes amazing cookies. But not better than Kai's mom.
If there's one thing that Kai hates, it's mayonnaise. But if there's two things, it's mayonnaise and pickles. And if there's three things it's mayonnaise pickles and telling people things about himself they don't know.

18. What's your favorite holiday?
Independence Day

19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
We like seeing movies. Every day we have off on tour is movie day. Toy Story 3 is the best movie of the summer so far.

20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
We all have stupid super powers.
Sam - Parallel parking. Any size vehicle, any size space.
Jesse - Jesse knows what you're going to say, as you're saying it. So I guess that's actually telepathy. Which isn't stupid.
Jordan - Can open any jar. not any thing. But any jar. It has nothing to do with strength. Though he is very very strong.
Kai - Can spot any minor celebrity from at least 50 yards away. No joke. He never misses one. Like the guy from the geico commercials. And the guy in 'the christmas tree' youtube video.

Thanks for your time!!!!

Be In Love,
Kai, Jesse, Jordan & Sam
