I day pop. My step-mom (the bitch!!) says "soda pop". You don't need to say soda and pop. It one or the other! Pop sounds better.

It's pop in the midwest, and soda everywhere else. Atleast that's what I have discovered.

in australia we just say for eg....

if we want a can of coke we say "can i have a can of coke"

if we want a can of pepsi we say "can i have a can of pepsi"

pretty straight forward....

But people used to call it soft drink... guess thats your equivilant to soda pop.... but noone says soft drink anymore....

and also SC0926 said something about then calling water fountains, 'bubblers'.... Well in australia drinking fountains are called bubblers.... but im too hardcore so i just call it a 'tap'....

Is that so? Well, I'd say Kansas is the middle of the midwest (and the middle of the country, for that matter). And we say "pop" here. It's also "pop" in Minnesota. But if you say "pop" in NY, everyone just looks at you like you have 2 heads.

depends on what part of NY. Western/Central NY is pop. NYC is soda.

i agree with the "coke" kids. it's all coke. the "soda" thing is wierd and i've never heard anyone call it just "pop". that is wierd. and slightly homosexual if you ask me. not that there's anything wrong with that. but "coke" all the way.

Yea it's weird that so many different parts of the SAME country call it different stuff. Here in st. louis it's just soda. I asked for a pop once at McDonalds and the girl giggled at me. So pop doesnt really work here. And if you said "give me a coke." you would get a coke. But if you wanted a Sierra Mist you would have to say "give me a sierra mist."

As far as "bubblers" go, here theyre simple water fountains or drinking fountains.

Ive also heard that St louis is one of the few places that has Toasted Ravioli. Is this true?
