Sorry but if the Get Up Kids are on the list and you didn't vote for them you officially have no taste and should be burned at the stake (just kidding...or maybe not...internet is hard to detect sarcasm over...take taht statement as you will).

Considering that Face to Face and TGUK are the reason Vagrant can function and were able to put out albums by Alkaline Trio, Saves The Day and Dashboard. SomethingTo Write Home About basically funded the label.

They are easily the most important band for that label but also my favorite...though I am a fan of most of the Vagrant roster (senses Fail and Alexisonfire excluded from that list...poor bands).

the Get Up Kids get my vote any day ofthe week.

10/25/06, 05:11 PM
I chose Saves the Day, naturally, but I really love(d) TGUK, Protest the Hero, AK3, Moneen, Reggie, Dashboard. That label is odd...half the bands are wonderful, half are absolute shit.

Carlo Marx
10/29/06, 06:06 PM
Uh, where's the Hold Steady?

a_sk8r
10/29/06, 08:24 PM
you forgot "No Motiv"

chrisPAIN
10/29/06, 10:43 PM
the Hold Steady isn't on here because Craig Finn can't sing, duh! ;-)
but leaving them off as well as artists like Paul Westerberg and Eels I think is neglecting the more indie following of the label rather than just the punk fans.
anyways, it really baffles me how Chris Carrabba has resisted moving up to a major this long, although Dusk and Summer pretty much received major label promotion if you ask me.

Alex DiVincenzo
10/30/06, 12:54 PM
Lots of good bands, but definitley have to give this one to Alk3.

invincibleXL
10/30/06, 08:36 PM
the get up kids should be the winner.

dashboard....who can resist the whiny catchy songs...well, i sure know i can't...

OveriseFan
10/31/06, 05:29 PM
Dashboard is NOT technically on Vagrant.

They're on Interscope. Interscope owns the band 100%. They're just nice and don't slap their logo all over it, and to help with 'indie cred' put the Vagrant logo on it.

Maybe that's because it was major label promotion.

And what are you talking about "Dusk and Summer", "A Mark A Mission..." received just as much too. The re-release of Swiss Army Romance got quite a bit too.

ThrowTheBones
11/01/06, 12:02 PM

SteveLikesMusic
11/01/06, 12:43 PM

SynesthesiaX
11/01/06, 09:21 PM
Saves The Day is definatly kicking ass

myjokesmakeucry
11/01/06, 09:22 PM
dashboard was the best band on vagrant, Lets face it Vagrant is the house that Carrabba built

but at the moment i would have to say Saves the Day is the best they have to offer although alk trio still puts out decent record. and the get up kids are the ultimate hall of famers for vagrant

myjokesmakeucry
11/01/06, 09:23 PM
Saves The Day. Through With Being Cool is one of my favorite cds ever.
yet that was not released on vagrant

stay what you are, in reverie, ups and downs, whatever the new album is called

myjokesmakeucry
11/01/06, 09:25 PM
i fuckin forgot though about the new amster dams. at the moment they are making the best music on vagrant in my opinion and we shouldnt leave out hey mercedes from this list and westerberg

mike_n_
11/06/06, 07:05 PM
Yeah, I voted for The Get up Kids but, since their not around anymore Saves the Day is the best vargant's got, by far. It was a hard call.

whiteboypain
11/30/06, 08:32 AM
Saves The Day.

I actually had a hard time deciding on this one. Def. not Senses Fail. Dashboard Confessional is pretty respectible and makes good music. Moneen is cool, although i didn't like The Red Tree.

JunkBondTrader
11/30/06, 01:02 PM
