I was happy that Brand New decided to stretch themselves, but I think this is an exceptionally average record. I doubt it will even crack my top ten for the year.

my favorite is probably quiet things, with close second being play crack the sky. I find it weird that I love the album for being so unique yet my favorite song is the most "normal" of all. The only song I don't really like is jaws theme swimming.

Ok, I know everyone here loves this album. And to many, this may pass for innovation. But I'm going to be frank, Deja Entendu is incredibly derivative, and they wear their influences on their sleeve. Listening to Cursive and Bright Eyes and naming your songs like Morrissey isn't that new.
