Foo Fighters (http://www.foofighters.com)' first-ever live album, Skin And Bones, a document of the band's debut tour with its expanded eight-piece lineup culled from three sold out performances at Los Angeles' Pantages Theater. A live DVD with five additional tracks has also been confirmed for release on November 28th.

Skin And Bones features the Foo Fighters core of Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, and Chris Shiflett augmented by guest players Petra Haden (violin), Rami Jaffee (keyboards), Drew Hester (percussion) and former Foo Fighter Pat Smear (guitar) debuting live arrangements of several songs from disc two of the platinum-plus In Your Honor, as well as unique interpretations of favorites from the band's entire catalogue.

The album and DVD will be the first--and in many cases only--chance for Foo fans to hear and witness the magic of a unique completely sold out tour that played a mere 15 intimate North American venues July through early September of this year. With the CD and DVD release of Skin And Bones, Foo Fighters fans far and wide can witness every magic moment of the tour--from the whisper to scream opening crescendo of "Razor" to the never-before-played Grohl-penned Nirvana B-side "Marigold" to alternately stripped down and gussied up reinterpretations of FF staples "My Hero," "Times Like These," "Best Of You," "Everlong" and more--in the comfort of their own homes, cars and offices.

The Skin And Bones DVD will feature five additional songs and exclusive extras. Shot in high-definition with 5.1 surround sound audio and directed by Danny Clinch, this will be a quintessential must-have for any Foo Fighters fan.

It's good to see that people are still using the word "culled."

I'm pretty sure "Everywhere But Home" didn't come out on a CD... though it might have been sold in a CD jewel case.

wasn't this supposed to be a cd/dvd/dvd release with the hyde park concert on it? i think it would be much cooler if they released just a double dvd one with an acoustic performance and one with the hyde park performance

This is going to rule all.

Dave Grohl is the man! I love Jared's avatar for showcasing the face of genius.

where's monkey wrench? or learn to fly? or breakout?"Monkey Wrench" would sound terrible acoustic.

I might pick this up, I was not a fan of In Your Honor as a whole, but this could be pretty interesting... plus, I bet "February Stars" acoustic is breathtaking.
