Punk 'rents

Hey does anyone here have parents that got them into punk or listen to punk? like, that go to shows and stuff with them? i had never heard about that till last night i football camp i was talking to this one kid, and he kept saying his parents got him into it, and he always said, "we have that cd" meaning him and his parents, it was wierd, but i need sleep, later guys, nice to be back

i've heard of some people like that, i don't know any of them in person, but my one friend says that her dad owns some Dead Kennedys and knows all the words. thats pretty rad.

my dad got me into it. he bought me dude ranch for my birthday back in like.. 6th or 7th grade. he had always listened to the clash and the velvet underground and older stuff like that when i was growing up.
i bought him alkaline trio's "good mourning" for fathers day

Damn, I love my parents but I ran away today. I'm dead serious. we got in a fight and I left. i walked a long way to the nearest payphone and called for my aunt to pick me up. damn, if you guys are religious pray that my relationship with my parents gets better. i feel like shit...

I think my dad kinda got me into punk muisc because he is always istening to rock and when I was young I always listened to stuff like Pink Floyd and Heart. I know thats not punk, but I think thats what drew me to listening to it.

My mom is ok with the music I like, but she gives me weird looks when ever there is screaming.

Alot of my friends and people at school think I am a hardcore rocker and listen to insane metel. They think TBS is hardcore. hahahahahaha.

My dad tells me to turn "that fucking screaming shit down!!" and my mom doesn't really care. She lets me play whatever I want. As loud as I want.

But kids at my school tell me to "stop listening to that Slipknot shit" when i start telling them how rap sucks. Then I have to explain that what I listen to is in a vein like the SHIT they hear on MTV(ex. GC, Simple Plan), but 1000's of times better....And they dont really understand, but thats the only way I can explain it.

My uncle was a big Ramones, Buzzcocks and Minor Threat fan when he was younger, he introduced it to my dad and my dad owns two Clash's, a Ramones, a Green Day and an assortment of comps and new wave.
My mom was a hip-hopper cause she lived in Boston. Luckily, she changed here ways, she likes Bad Religion and AFI now!

My dad thinks it's great that I listen to punk he is like see Bill (he calls me Bill cause trying to say the extra y is to much for an old man) they actually play instruments that is real music not like that rap shit. He hates rap stuff. But this is off the subject one night he came home drunk and put in my Bob Marley CD and was sitting there bobbing his head and singing along pretty funny.

My mom loved Nirvana, Metallica, Social Distortion, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and stuff like that. She also likes country. I guess you could my mom turned me on to good music, afterall, I did grow up on it.

I don't know about my parents. I guess they're both pretty much okay with it. The only time they yell at me to turn it down is if they just came home for work ("I just got home, and I can't even have a little peace and quiet?!") or if there's screaming ("How can you listen to this? They're not singing!").

OMG!!! i'm a punk rock princess too! I wear hurley shirts, even though I don;t know what hurley is LOL, I ride a scooter, and I just loooooooooove simple plan. I like going to concerts because there are so many cute boys LOL. But I really hate those icky gutter punks. Don't they know they look stupid? OMG! I forgot to menton that punk is about individuality, and I'm an individual cuz I shop at hot topic. LOL

Yeah, I know. It wouldn't fit all the letters, and I didn't want to leave an S off because then that would look like princes...you know, plural of prince....yeah, anyways, I just took the K off of rock, and didn't realize to just put something like "rck" that would look slightly more normal until after I registered. aside from the posters on my wall i dont think my mom could really name any band i listen to.

my mom is from another country so she listens to, vallenato, cumbia, ballata and merengue.........although i do think she liked this Ugly Kid Joe song and some Nirvana.

my dad (if he was still alive) would be listening to classical composers, actually i like to listen to some mozart when i study.

my step dad likes classical music as well and along with oldies like the beatles for example. sometimes he listens to polka music, being that he's from germany.

my mom doesnt listen to music. but she does at times like the pop. whenever she sees britney spears..she gets all excited and say ooooo download that song for me. and if someone is irish she is automatically a fan.

my dad likes country music. he doesn't like the music i listen to. but does at times start singing random songs i listen to. most often it is blink 182. and he is very critical of bright eyes. he says the singer should calm down and get some help.

My dad likes punk... but thats only cause i make him listen to it in the car... he went to Warped Tour last year... he wanted to... and my Mom went to ozzfezt in 01... but other than that they are COMPLETE hippies!
