Ryan from theAudition (http://www.absolutepunk.net/theaudition) updated his livejournal (http://oneandonlyroc.livejournal.com) ... I think he read all your replies about their comparison (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=182658) to Panic! at the Disco.

Hahaha at the comments on that post.
you do realize most of the people on absolutepunk who post on it either are people who are never going there or people who think their convulted lies are the truth... [yet, ap.net is my homepage]i honestly hope you guys get big, even if it means I have to fight teenies for a better spot when seeing you all. it's worth it."

Hahaha. Eh, my point still stands. I love those guys, and I really do hope they blow up and get everything they've worked so hard for and deserve, but everything I said in the other thread I still stand by.

Why is he getting angry? It seems like a majority of the posts were in support of his band.

bc there were people on this previous thread saying that in order to make it big, you have to work very hard for a while to become recognized and you have to have a gimmick. gimmicks. sadly the audition doesnt really try to make a gimmick, so its basically saying "ill support you, but you wont be successful (in comparison to panic!) id be a little offended. but apparently i didnt know what i was talking about.

The Audition is one of the better pop rock bands today. Its difficult to filter through all the bands that ether half ass their song writing or just dont have what it takes. These days Its so easy to get your band heard. But the problem with that is people are throwing a bunch of shit against the wall and hoping some of it sticks. I was on the Warped Tour this past summer, and fortunately was able to catch their show on a few of the dates, and i really like them.

I never understood how people can complain about bands they enjoy "going mainstream" in the post about them and panic. First off it makes no sense at all because theyre getting bumped up off of the same cd you love/once loved so nothing is different with their music. But then you have the guts to complain and get upset when your fav bands end up breaking up. You cant have the best of both worlds. There are not many bands out there who will last more than a few years of straight touring only making 100 bucks a night then depending on their "loyal" fans to buy enough merch to keep them rolling. Are you guys going to buy the same cd 4 times for them, or buy every shirt they have in each color and size. Nope. Bands need to reach out to new fans. If you want to enjoy these bands for more than just a few albums(if that), unfortunately youre going to have to deal with not being the only kid in town with their hoodie. Suck it up, enjoy the music for yourself. And if you dont like it, find a new band under the purevolume top 10 unsigned bands to call your own.

I honestly don't if this band could be any more generic or cliche'd.

They're already making themselves out to be like Panic more by doing this.

And I contest differently.

I've heard he reads posts on here, which is rad, since I like theAUDITION and think in no way they are comparable to P!ATD: mainly because theAUDITION is a lot better!

I love the audition. They are one of my favorite bands to see live, they have some much energy and its such a fun show. If they got big I wouldn't really be suprised.

gimmicks are crap. they should be proud that they don't have one.

These guys are the Orgy to Panic!'s Limp Bizkit and Fallout Boy's Korn. Mall-emo is 2006's nu-metal.
