i know they havent been on the cover before (besides the warped special) but Alternative Press has been really annoying me as it seems they have a rotating covers list with the same bands on it over and over again, or at least from the same scene. My Chemical Romance, Underoath, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, AFI, Fall Out Boy, etc. Granted, i like a bunch of those bands, but it would be nice if there was more diversity or if a band could only be on a cover once every 18 months or so.

MCS are so horrifically underated... Yep they get an average ammount of exposure, but never seem to be anyones FAVOURATE bands. Which is a real shame, nothing would make me happier than seeing MCS blow up with a third album.

Of course that means goodbye to the smaller shows....I still remember seeing em headlining in wolverhampton and having to go find the bar manager because security wouldnt let them in as they didnt have gig tickets.

I just cancelled my AP subscription. I used to really enjoy the mag, but lately, I feel as if the writing and the article-selection have fallen short. Also, I feel that even though they do, in fact, give small coverage to small bands (and I really appreciate those articles I every once in a while find on bands that fall under the radar), the same 10ish bands have been getting the big coverage lately. Additionally, as of recently, there have been more blurbs in the beginning sections about what these bands do in their spare time (i.e. personal hygiene, what they eat, what they wear, etc.). To be honest, I feel like I'm reading Teen Beat when I read this bullshit. I don't want Teen Beat...I want a magazine that reads like Rolling Stone, but with more underground rock music, and less elitist fuckheads writing for it. If anyone could help with my search for an adequate rock magazine (all types), that would be much appreciated. Who knows? Maybe I'm too picky and idealist.

not really. the lead singer was on one of the Warped covers with like 3 other lead singers. that is not the same thing. there wasn't a whole article about them and the whole band (5 people) was not on the cover.

Guess they won the contest for who people wanted to see on the cover? I was almost positive Fall Out Boy would get it for Most Anticipated of 2007, but good for Motion City Soundtrack. They deserve it.
