let me start this review by saying that I've been dying to see RHCP for years ever since I saw Live at the slane in ireland on dvd. They have so much on stage energy and absolutely turn you mind into spagetti with their technical skill.

I was stoked. I had floor seats.

The night was full of delays.

the Mars volta was schedualed to go on at 7:30. they didnt go on until about 8:40.

TMV took the stage with a total of 8 members. everything was too loud and their set became a muddy mix of blaring guitars high pitched vocals, and yes soprano sax. I really like some of their music, but this set only had 3 songs all going over 8 minutes, (one had to be close to 15) so you got kind of bored and frustrated listening to them. Omar is an excellent guitarist however.

then it was announced that RHCP had been delayed by the horrible weather that night in boston.

needless to say the chili peppers didn't take the stage until about 10:20

the first song was kind of a funk jam, which was just amazing and just hyped up Anthony's arrival.

the first song was can't stop (such a good choice) and the garden errupted at the sound of the first lick. I might add the chili peppers light show was unlike any I have seen, and very cool, actually going above my head, it just added to the party atmosphere. The chili peppers shreded their way through hit after hit, pausing from the hits only to play an amazing song off of SA. (ready made, snow, charlie,) the left of the stage at 12. but I'll list some highlights for me.

-before californiacation flea and Frusciante duel, and is just awesome to hear. A note: during this a man of considerable stature (about 6'4 300 pounds) came barreling towards my friend jon and I and the kids behind us. he was obviously smashed, and couldn't contain his anger or excitement. It took 8 security guards to keep this man from hurting anyone. so It kind of ruined that for me but I could still hear it and I went back to you tube to confirm, and yes it was amazing.

- The solo following Throw Away Your Television
-Flea's Solo
-Ready Made's Solo

that's about it.

thanks for reading.

if you love the chili peppers, or even like them just a bit.

go see them. I paid 150 bucks for my tickets and it was worth every penny.

Yeah i was at this show, it was really great. But, i've seen TMV four times before this, and they were BY FAR the worst this time around. You couldnt really hear anything, and their jams jusrt went out for far too long. RHCP was amazing, just a great show. I hated waiting an extra hour for them to go on, but i did love getting free Dunkin Donuts because they were so unorganized at the counter. Overall, an really great night.

amen to the mars volta.

eh to RHCP. i never got into them much. they're vocals...well, not exactly what i'd call decent. lyrically, retarded. i just don't like them as a whole i guess.

but overall, nice review. :]
