03. Justice - Waters of Nazareth
02. Page France - Pear/Sister Pinecone
01. Fields - 7 From The Village

Most Overrated Album

03. Gatsbys American Dream - Gatsbys American Dream

02. mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister

01. The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America

I just don't get The Hold Steady, I really don't. Trust me, I've tried. As for mewithoutYou, I loved their older stuff, but I think it is far superior to their new album, which everyone else on this website seemed to crap their pants for. GAD, I just can never get into.

Also, I would have made this "Most Overrated Band" but I changed it to album for the sake of mwY - I don't think the band is overrated, just this latest album.

Most Underrated Band

05. ¡Forward, Russia!
04. Peter and the Wolf
03. Tap Tap
02. Beach House
01. Fields

Even though Beach House isn't even in my Top 30 list and #3 and #4 are, I feel that Beach House has gotten so little press and acclaim that it is more underrated than #3 and #4, both of which have at least moderate buzz

Song of the Year

03. Peter Bjorn And John - Young Folks
02. The Knife - We Share Our Mother's Health
01. LCD Soundsystem - 45:33

This song, commissioned by Nike in order to be essentially the perfect song to run to, is 45 minutes and 33 seconds of pure LCD Soundystem goodness. I don't really go running but this makes me want to break out my old tennis shoes.

Video of the Year

04. Muse - Knights of Cydonia (link (http://streamos.wbr.com/download/wbr/muse/071406/muse_knights-of-cydonia_700.mov))
03. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion (link (http://umusicmedia.ca/yeahyeahyeahs/video/showyourbones/goldlion_480.mov))
02. Mogwai - Friend of the Night (link (http://media2.7digital.com/motion/Mogwai_Friend_Of_The_Video_High.mov ))
01. The Knife - We Share Our Mother's Health (link (http://www.silentshout.co.uk/) - go to videos section)

In all honesty, I tried to find semi-high quality videos at least. I didn't want to link to youtube videos because the crappiness of youtube quality takes away from the video. Gold Lion, originally I wasn't going to put this on here, but I watched it on HD a while back on a 50" TV and, man, that was an amazing experience.

Most Anticipated of 2007

05. Devendra Banhart
04. The Magnetic Fields
03. Animal Collective
02. Arcade Fire
01. Interpol

Biggest Lead Singer Douche

02. Noel Gallagher (Oasis)

01. Brandon Flowers (The Killers)

Brandon Flowers gets it for a. calling Green Day un-American because of the lyrics to American Idiot and shooting a DVD in England and b. thinking the new Killers album is God's gift to eardrums. Noel Gallagher needs no explanation.

I'd like to state, for the record, that I created this list weeks before Pitchfork's list came out and so any cries of me copying Pitchfork's #1 is totally untrue.

I agree with them. I was on the fence about The Hold Steady until about a week ago when I saw them live. They have an insane amount of energy on stage, especially Craig Finn, and their songs just flat out rock. After seeing them, Boys and Girls in America is easily one of my favorites of the year (while still being mildly dissapointed that it doesn't give their live show justice.)

No love for Grizzly Bear either?

The Knife are extremely overrated, ridiculous mediawhores and terrible live. The record didn't sound that great the last time I listened to it (last year), so I won't comment that.

But very enjoyable read, nevertheless.

I'll have to say that I absolutely loved their live show when it hit America, but that's fine. You're Swedish and I'm a Swedish fanboy, so I like you.

Haven't listened to it enough, I guess. I've heard good things though, so I'll give it another spin or two.

Haha..half-expected to get verbally abused throughout the existence of the thread after my comment on The Knife. They hadn't performed in Sweden at all before this year, so their debut-show in Stockholm was so hyped-up that I thought that maybe Pete Doherty had joined the band (he is also ridiculously love here). Then they received rave reviews for a show with hideous sound and a stage set too low. But yeah..you seem to be a nice guy, so I'll give the record another chance, JUST because of you being a nice guy.
