I'm going to make a trip to Barnes and Noble today because I need to pick up something new to read. I made a thread like this before, but it's old and I don't feel like looking for it cause I'm lazy like that.

I'm really open to anything, so throw your recs at me!

I REALLY like Chuck Klosterman, if you're into pop culture essays & articles.

Anything by Salinger, Hemingway, Fitzgerald...it's all good.

ok so this is always hard for me, because when people rec books they are coming from a completely different background of interests.

i tend to go after similar books with similar themes

ive done the fuckup, apathy and other small victories, catcher and the rye, and perks...what are some books within in this same vein that are great that i havent read yet?

anyone got any recs on these lines?

That would be Steinbeck.

And I would recommend going to a Half Price Books if you have one near you. Everything there is really generously priced and they always have an amazing selection.

As for recommendations, I would recommend The Catcher in The Rye, Fahrenheit 451, Catch-22, Of Mice and Men, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, and On The Road. I like those a lot.
