Ah. What an amazing lineup tonight at the Emerson Theater in good ole Indianapolis. I always enjoy seeing Copeland live.

First time ever seeing the rest of the bill & they were all spectacular as well. Anyone else go to this show? Let's hear all about it! :]

Went to this tour in Chicago....

I was pleasantly surprised by Owen. I never really listened to him though i heard good things about him from friends that saw him with I Can Make A Mess last year. This guy is really talented on guitars and has a great voice. Great sense of humor and great stage presence even though it was just him and a guitar. This guy really has a passion for music and I regret not buying his cd at the show because now it will cost me more money. He didnt even mention that he had a cd just come out, which i was unaware of, almost made him look humble. But it will definetely be an itunes purchase.

Acute was boring, generic and not really a good fit on this tour. I dont know how they got on. I enjoyed watching their drummer though, he was quite humorous.

Appleseed was spot on. This is the third time i have seen them, and with the third different drummer. Though he was no Cobra, he did a pretty good job. I was dissappointed that they did not play anything from Mare Vitalis but they played some really great songs. Ceremony has to be one of the best songs that they could open up with as it set the mood for their whole set, explosive. They played greats from LLO however missing Cobra (or even nate Jr.) made me miss those hits on Steps and Numbers. They closed the set with a instrumental of sorts, i havent heard this song before and was amazed by the structure of it. Crisci played almost a blues riff that layed over the song and just was brilliant. I dont think that Appleseed could ever have a bad night.

Copeland was bit of a dissapointment. They are one of my favorite bands, i have enjoyed all of their releases over the past five years or so. They opened with When Paula Sparks, one of my all time favorite songs, however, i couldnt really tell that they were playing it. Aaron just didnt hit notes and the band had a little change to how it was played. As they continued to play, i just lost ineterest however. I dont know what it was but i was but their songs seemed to just drown on and run together. maybe i was just still pumped about seeing appleseed but i dont know. One thing that was i was sure of, besides control freak, i was dissapointed in how they played their new songs, i didnt think they could support thier new cd really well. They were on spot with the In Control material and really good with Beneath the Medicine Tree material, however it was just plain with their new cd. I think that they did an encore, i am not sure, i left when they left the stage the first time.

Overall, great experience. Catch the tour just to see Appleseed Cast at least.
