So, here's the one we've been (or at least I've been) waiting for. I am going to be interviewing Cassino (http://www.myspace.com/cassinoband) soon. Please leave any questions you may have in the replies.

putting out a record yourselves or with a label?
1. Are there any plans for international tours?
2. Are there any plans for a Northstar reunion?
3. How has your experience in Northstar affected your drive for creating an entirely different sound in Cassino?
4. Did you expect fans of Northstar to warm to Cassino?
5. Has the music you've written for Cassion been an ongoing project throughout Northstar's career or did abruptly begin following the breakup of Northstar?
6. Do you expect Cassino to be as influencial as Northstar was (e.g. to bands such as Brand New, TBS, etc.)?
(Sorry for all the Northstar-related questions, but you can't say you didn't expect it)

Where does Nick find all the "inspiration" for lyrics. Does he read a lot of books or something??
Does he think in metaphors and that's how he comes up with the lyrics, or what?? He's just got a very abstract way of telling the story in a song and I'd like to know a little about how he does it.
It seems like most of the Northstar songs are about sex and drugs (at least that seemed to be the prevailing opinion), is that a correct assumption, or are people just interpreting the lyrics in different ways?? I'd kinda like to know any stories behind the lyrics of the songs, if they feel like sharing. I know some bands don't like to tell the stories behind the lyrics, but their lyrics are just so fantastic, that I really want to know what's behind them.
This may be a bit of a rude/inappropriate question, but is there a lot of hurt and disappointment in their lives?? Almost all of their songs have a dirty, downtrodden vibe, whether it's lyrically or musically. Is that reflective of their disappointment and/or frustation living where they are (referring to the sentiments expressed on the Northstar DVD). I can hear a bit of light, a ray of hope if you will, in the Cassino demos. Have they moved away from where they were at?? I guess they can answer that question from a physical and mental point of view if they so desire.
Don't get me wrong, Northstar was my favorite band and Cassino is probably poised to take their place, so I'd just like to know all about them, or all they feel like sharing.

How much has the writing process changed? I mean, obviously your outlook has changed, without the other guys in Northstar, but has your direction or intentions with the music shifted?
who is in the band currently?
i know that nick and tyler are in it, and that will noon had the drums on a track, but who is in the band full time?
any idea of a label yet?

What is going to happen with the Broken Parachute EP?
Will we see any Northstar-ish songs on this new album or EP?

why they stopped playing two zero two live?
probably because there were the kids who only came for that song, and would spend the whole show yelling at them to play that song?

ask them "why did you give up on such a great band?"
Would they ever record "is this thing loaded" acoustic. ****(PLEASE ASK)****
Is steve going to record/tour with the band and continue to play keyboard?
What have the former members of northstar been up to?
** what is the story behing the trucker hat that nick always wears. where did he get it, does it have a special meaning to him?**

ask them "why did you give up on such a great band?"
It's already been covered, but there were constant problems within and from outside the band. Drug problems (I think), there were just a lot of things that went wrong when they were on tours. It seems a lot of their shows were canceled. There was a lack of support from the label, and a lack of respect from the music community as a whole.
I'm pretty sure there was a Cassino interview that covered the "Why?" portion a month or two after the project was announced, but I can't find it in the interview archive.

Wow, everyone here pretty much said what I have been thinking. No questions. I am absolutely in love with The Gin War. Most Anticipated by far.

they didnt like the music they were playing anymore, among other things. you cant blame a band for that. cassino kills northstar as far as the sound of it goes i think. although i did like noprthstar when i was more into that rock and roll type stuff, but now i think the new sound is so much better

ugh the number of people who think northstar questions are THAT necessary upsets me. Let it die...the Cassino demo already shows more promise than either Northstar album did. There's more to music than distorted guitars, people.

agreed.
ask: how far along on the recording process?
musical influences for new album?
is it going to be an EP or a full length?
producer?
lyrical influences/inspirations?
why are nick and tyler pure geniuses?
Where do you get your influences to write lyrics the way you do? -my biggest question.

Appreciated and all, but Northstar was way more than just distorted guitar. Nick is just a great songwriter hands down. That being said, Cassino is his new band and Cassino is a great band. Maybe a couple of Northstar questions here and there, but damn this is ridiculous.

don't worry, only the N* questions i think are deemed necessary will actually make it to the interview
how excatly is the name pronouced? is it "cas-sino" "ca-ssino" or more like "casino"?
1. Have you ever considerd adding drums and bass to Cassino. You have them on some recordings but you dont play with them live.
2. Why are you the best singer song writers on the face of the planet?

Tell them I would punt a baby to see them play in Atlanta.
this is going to be an awesome interview... i had some questions, but you guys have already asked them.
good stuff, can't wait for more cassino!
also, i wasn't around for the whole northstar deal about why they broke up and stuff. i bought their album mainly because taking back sunday said that they were the best band ever. and i was really into taking back sunday at the time. i admit, i didn't really like it at first. some of the songs really had to grow on me... and some of the lyrics, wow... very interesting indeed.

I've only heard a few new songs. I do feel as though it sounds comfortably like Northstar, possibly better. Do you see yourselves gravitating away from the sound you made as Northstar, or do you think that is your sound, and it will stay with you?

How do you pronounce Cassino?
How do you pronounce Cassino?
It is pronounced just like the word 'casino'
I had this same question and a few others that I asked Nick at a weird show on Long Island
What I would really like to know is the progress of the Broken Parachute EP thats on myspace.com/speakmusicmedia
I would love to see an acoustic cd of Pollyanna but I know the chances of that are probably slim.
I was also wondering if I'd see them on the Straylight Run Benefit Show DVD but I think that DVD is pretty much cancelled. At least I saw that show though.
One of the greatest bands and coolest guys I've ever met.

1) Where do you see yourself as musicians in ten years
2) Tell Nick to be proud of being bald
3) Give the names of the three songs that have been circulating and the route you took writing these songs since they have a completely different feel from your four demos.
4) Will you play frisbee with me and my friends the next time I go see you live?

I almost forgot to mention... they said we would be surprised with what they are doing on the new album, I hate surprises and I would like to know what the "surprise" is going to be

1) What was behind the choice of using Will Noon for the demo songs?
2) Do you agree that the sound guy at VP South is the biggest dick in Long Island?
3) Is Elliot a permenant member of the band?
ok so here are the few questions i have
1.Would it be possible for them to sell their northstar tabs for, my ricochet (acoustic) and two zero two?
or even make sheet music for all their songs, I'm not exactly sure how to word the question.
2.How do they come up with their lyrics i love the way he puts songs together with them.
thanks! and when is the interview taking place?
