I wasn't sure where this post should go so I put it here. Anyway, I've never been to Chicago so I'm wondering what kind of area the Aragon Ballroom is in. Any information would be great. Thanks!

I've been there. I don't remember the area that much, but I don't think it's in a good neighborhood, it's been a while since I've bee there tho. The sound is sort of bad, real echoy. the drums and bass are heard well tho. it's just a huuuuuge dancefloor, no seats, except a few upstairs.

Along the same lines... I been there. Pretty nice neighborhood on the northside of Chicago. About 10 blocks north of Wrigley Field. Pretty large place with a floor about the size of a high school basketball gym and then an upper level that wraps around the main area. In the times (5 or 6) I've been there, I've always thought the sound and the shows in general there were pretty well done.

It's not too bad. I wouldn't choose to walk there alone at night but I wouldn't be incredibly scared if I somehow wound up there and had to wlak a few blocks.

I don't really have an opinion on the floor layout, but the acoustics can really SUCK sometimes. :-/ (sorry to post comething completely contrary to the person above me regarding the sound, I've just had some bad experiences).

Now that the Congress took out most of it's seating Aragon is back to being the worst venue in Chicago. Sound is shit, takes forever to leave, neighborhood is a bit iffy, and take the train because otherwise it is $20 parking. I do agree that it is a cool looking building, but the sound is godawful. If you want to see it rent Fight Night Round 3, it is one of the venues in the game.
