i find it pretty funny that in order to trade for britton, the yanks had to send wright along with four-million in cash. hahaha.

It's actually a really, really good deal for them. They were going to buy out his contract, and that would cost them $4mil, so they are basically buying out his contract and getting something in return. The other option was buy out his contract and get nothing in return. I think we'd all agree something>nothing.

Yes, the Yanks finally grew a brain. Now get rid of Pavano and Johnson.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman admitted Thursday that the team can't count on Carl Pavano, who hasn't pitched for the Yankees since June 2005 because of shoulder, backs, buttocks, elbow and rib injuries.
^^haha no shit. its about time they finally admit it after 2 seasons. fuck.

They'll def get rid of Pavano I'm sure. I don't remember him pitching at all last year so he's basically dead to the team anyway. I wonder where Bernie will end up.

A lot of the Yankee pitchers have trouble doing that, that's why they wanna look for better relievers.

Agreed. They should get your mom to help them warm up. I hear she's a great catcher if you know what I mean.

as an Oriole fan i like this because we get a good starting pitcher (yes he was good and promising at one time yankee fans), but i dont like how we gave up some one from our bullpen cuz we already have the worst BP in the entire MLB. I guess Leo didnt have anything to do with this trade lol

I'd be shocked if pettitte went back to the Yankees. I think he stays in Houston or retires.

Bringing in another one of Leos old pitchers just reminds me of Russ Ortiz.....and how much he blew

you're joking right? he may not give up a lot of homeruns but everytime he pitches, he's a tax on your bullpen. the guy can't get out of the fifth inning to save his life. everytime he starts, you will be wondering why you traded for him. the man is a disease for the bullpen on the team for which he plays.

as much as i love pettitte, bringing him back to new york would be a terrible move. he struggled to be consistent in the NL Central with declining health so how's he gonna end up in the AL East? my guess would be not too great.
