..and im keeping an open mind on the very premis of the website. However, and in only my opinion, it seems a little misleading. I mean it's comprehensive, looks great, etc.. Only i dont see alot in terms of history of the genre , the "members only" forum for the elite and that Ashlee Simpson and Good Charlotte are the most viewed "hot" pics in an Absolute Punk world.. Hmm. None the less, in fairness i won't mistake that just yet for walking into a Hot Topic. For all i know , they own this.

Um, the website was named over 6 years ago, while Jason was still in high school. It's a MUSIC website, we focus on everything, not just punk. We have a members only forum due to some of the older, established members wanting their own little place to get away from some of the new forum users, and due to the fact we have a prodominent chunk of younger viewers, bands like Good Charlotte are bound to be more popular, when if you look at the majority of the people who actually participate in the website's discussions, you'll see that they're pretty much ripped into by users.
And no, Hot Topic does not own the website, Jason does.

 Thank ya.
absolutepunk is a pretty goofy name for this site, but i figure it's one of those 'can't turn back now' things where jason (hopefully) wishes he had picked a more tasteful name.
He made it when he was about 15 or so, (possibly even younger) when he saw an Absolut Vodka ad and thought that Blink 182 and MxPx were punk. I'm sure if he could, he'd change the last part, but do to the fact that "Absolute" starts with "Ab" we're at the forefront of mosts website listings, which means people are more apt to see it, rather than say, a website called Musicnews.net or something along those lines. He can't go back now though, the name of the website is too established in the music scene.

Yes Melissa, i understand the premis of the site. Thanks. Id congradulate you, but you seem to have that covered. Though is it totally off the reservation to just ask these things without sarcastic or condisending half-answers..?

Ok, so Jason. In the most polite way one can ask another. Have you considered some focus on the history of the music in this website ..? Just curious. Thank you for your time.

I wasn't being sarcastic with my answers, I was trying to be informative.

Interesting that a 15 year old kid got his punk site linked on Rolling Stone Magazine.

I only say that about the name as a sidenote. Since everyone here can at least agree on the genre they are fans of, the information in your answer just confirmed what i had thought shortly after looking around. I understand and respect that its not just all punk, i listen to many kinds of music.

I mean, im not trashing the site. i had just misunderstood the demographic joining on. Thats all.

That's quite a response, especially to something that wasn't meant in any aggressive way. Hence the "not trashing the site" part. Too bad Coach won't be going over actual comprehension next practice. I know your trying to laid and all, i just don't want to be at the expense of it.

I'd say i was really off by thinking this was any different than the mental version my old high school. So I'm gonna say what I wanna say, jock-ass. If anyone needs to shut the fuck up.. It's you. Thinking seems to limit your speech to two words. "Go Bucks"

The fact that it's called AbsolutePunk and it's not punk is punk in itself.
