The Charleston area is pretty boring, in every way imaginable. Since we have mega-suburbs, it's pretty intensely religious and Republican. That plus the grits and you get South Charleston.

I don't know if you guys are familiar with the IB program, but basically it's like AP classes, but it's taught internationally. Some people on the school board thought the program was "un-american" because it was taught in other countries. It was ridiculous.

i could see that. Liberty Univ pretty much controls Lynchburg and I cannot WAIT to go to college somewhere with Democrats

I loved IB so much. English HL and History HL were such great classes.

I live in a union town and the state capital of New York, so it's pretty much dominated by machine politics and people who laugh at Line D.

I live in CT and my town has a bunch of rednecks. The town where I worked is largely conservative old people. So stagnant it hurts :(

I considered going to Liberty for grad school, then I took one look at "The Liberty Way" and promptly scratched that school off my list. The list of shit for inappropriate behavior was downright laughable if it wasn't so sad.

IB is a waste of time to begin with, you learn the same shit as everyone else just go a little more in depth. took it my freshman and sophomore years and then dropped it.the final test is nearly impossible to pass and if you dont pass it then you basically wasted your whole HS career busting your ass for no reason.

isnt it sad that you have to spend most of your time off campus at your own college?

Isn't it a violation to even possess an R-rated movie on DVD in the dorms?

I'm taking some grad classes through Liberty. Mostly because they've had some good things come out of their counseling program and its cheap.

Of course, I live in Pittsburgh, so I don't have to deal with the campus or town or anything.

Durham's a good mix. I tend to grade things by "can I show affection to another woman in public" and I feel pretty safe doing so in most of the places I travel in this city. Also, I live 10 minutes from Chapel Hill and Carrboro, which hemorrhage liberal blue.

IB is definitely not a waste of time. I learned a shit ton more from my IB classes than any other class. It wasn't the same material as everyone else either. Especially the english classes. And the only final test that I heard was impossible was the math HL. I didn't take that class though. I'd say IB prepared me for college way better than AP classes would've.

I wouldn't say Durham is "a good mix." It is liberal. Also, Orange County is the the most liberal county in the state.

I just don't the see the mix there. It has a very heavy population of African Americans and a very liberal University making up the city.

Only if it's not The Passion of The Christ. Cause you know, horrific violence is okay to watch if it's about Jesus.

And yeah fuck some Liberty University. Ruining my mountain so I have to see their logo from miles away. Dicks

Fair enough. And commenting on your view , since NC is in the south, there are still a fair amount of liberals that oppose and may not necessarily understand a homosexual relationship.

Gotcha. Yeah, being a homosexual in the African American community is very tough. I have read stories how hard it is for a black man to come out to his friends and neighborhood, more so than a white person coming out.

I go to Liberty and live in Lynchburg, and I can see why people can get annoyed with the school's stance. But at the same time if it wasn't for Liberty and TRBC, Lynchburg wouldn't be on the map. There wouldn't be a couple Wal-Marts or nearly as many stores and restaurants. That's just the way it is.

I thought you were going to talk about the eugenics program out there. That city (as well as most of VA) is pretty shitty.
