It does bum me out. As of right now, the only people who like Say Anything are the ones who take time to find out about a new band, listen to their music, let it sink in and really appreciate it for what it is. MTV promotes music based purely on aesthetics; by catching the viewers' eyes with flashy videos and "hot" musicians. Now I'm going to have to deal with fucktards who will say they love say anything because "ohmigawd max is so hawt!!!1".

I'm all for Say Anything getting the recognition they deserve, I just wish that our society allowed people to get their due respect without having to appeal to such base desires.

i found out about say anything on FUSE (which honestly isn't much greater to MTV) and i loved them and bought their album and it is my favorite album now.

so i think it's a good thing that they are getting on tv because people go out there and listen and love their music.

bands want to get on mtv. they want people to hear and enjoy their music, its not their fault that they are on mtv

yeah, i mean on one hand it's hard to see it happen when you knew about them before most other people, but it is their career, and they will definitely expand their listening crowd with this endeavor.

the fact of the matter is they make great music, and it's going to be noticed by bigger crowds eventually. you just have to hope that they stay grounded through the process of becoming more popular. word.

i hate it when people get pissed at bands for going on mtv. it's probably their label's choice anyway and there's nothing wrong with getting more attention for their music. in the end, it's going to be their true fans that stick with them anyway. i did lol @ how there was a crowd of little kids in the video for alive with the glory of love

they way i see it, if a band is on mtv they have or have done something with their music that was different, and that band is forunate enough to promote themselves on such a wide scale. same thing with cartel.

why do think all those nameless emo/pop-punk bands never make it anywhere? other maybe a 15 second spot on a satellite tv music program.

mtv has promoted some shit but if you like the music you should support the most you can.

Honestly, MTV and whatever else you people include in the 'SELL OUT HELPER SYSTEM' is only helping bands out and yes i will admit it is annoying when a band you've known about for a while goes on MTV and all these teeny-bopper n00bs start liking them. But isnt the point of being a band is to make music and get it out to people???

You were eight at the turn of the century.

yeah, but that's how great 90's mtv was. it transcended age barriers, including those of the womb.

Wow. God forbid a band be on MTV and make money to be able to make the music that they love.

You're so punk.

Please go play in traffic.

how is this surprising/ they signed to J records forever ago. man, it seems so weird that being part of one of the major 4 labels, that you would be on MTV every now and then. i wasnt happy about it then, but i really dont care at all, i dont really care for them too much anymore, i guess.
