If only you weren't just saying that to validate your purchase. PS3 = not worth it. At all. There have already been reports of systems breaking, most of the launch games dont even look that hot, let alone better than the 360 and the only good game is resistance for the next... 6 months.

joanna newsom - ys is such an incredible album. i've been listening to it since i got it, and every time i pick up on new details. van dyke parks arrangements work so well with her. and for those of you who don't like her voice, please give it another shot. it's still very unique, but a little more accessible.
bob dylan - i mean, come on.
the thermals - so fucking good! their new album is absolutely fantastic. one of the best albums to come out this year.
kind of like spitting - they broke up, and i'm still not over it. but i feel safe saying that that's not the last we'll see of ben barnett.
the dear hunter - such nice guys, so talented--every one of them. please please please see them live. they put on quite the show.
i usually do five recs, but today i need to add this one:
brian wilson - if you have a chance, go see the pet sounds 40th anniversary tour. al jardine (original beach boy) is playing with them. AND! their second set is pet sounds in its entirety. so fucking good. so so so fucking good.

I recommend:
Saving money and avoiding overpriced video game systems.
For the record, PCs > "next gen" systems for years, if you've had the cash for the video card. I can't believe how many people are getting suckered into spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars right now.
Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Yeah, it's been talked / hyped to death, but putting all of the noise aside and just sitting and listening to the album, it's incredible. "Deja Entendu" is my holy grail and I don't believe anything will ever replace / overtake it. Just enjoy the music on this album for what it is rather than making comparisons.
Voxtrot
I've been saying it long before it hit the blogosphere... this band will hit the masses in a big way whenever they release an LP. Check out their 3 EPs (the latest released almost 2 weeks ago) and find out what all the buzz is about. I also highly recommend seeing them live if you have the chance.
Complimenting and building up...
I know, I sound like a softie. The holidays are just around the corner, though, and there's enough tearing down (especially with the recent US elections). So just relax and put on a smile, emo kids.

yay at piebald.
I'd get a PS3 if I had a spare $600 laying around. The thing is that's actually a really good deal, considering Blu-ray players are upwards of $1000. I'll buy one when they are ~$450 probably, when they actually have a solid selection of games available.
The only game worth getting right now is Resistance: Fall of Man, anyway.

we could sit here all day and argue about which system is the best, it comes down to what u want to play, if u are big into shooters and online then go xbox, if u like platforms and GOD OF WAR then go playstation, wii if u like the control and downloading the old school games. each system has its good and bad. dont hate on systems though.

this is my first post on this website..okay now for my recs i guess:
incubus - light grenades
moneen - are we really happy with who we are now?
3 - wake pig
the prize fighter inferno - my brothers blood machine
And to the ps3 haters..well I love all three systems, the only one really worth buying at the moment is a 360. 360's catalog of games is a bit broader and of course has some pretty good games available by now (examples being Gears of War, Elder Scrolls 4, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Ghost Recon, DOA 4) . Next year I think would be the best time to purchase a wii or ps3. For one both only really have 1 or 2 really great games coming out at launch, ps3 being resistance and maybe ridge racer 5 and for wii, zelda of course and maybe rayman raving rabbids. The rest you can get on 360 and even zelda is arriving on cube in a few weeks (which is the version im getting). i say wait till next year because the wii will have super mario galaxy, super smash bros brawl, metroid prime 3 etc. and ps3 will have metal gear solid 4, final fantasy 13 (hopefully), heavenly sword, war hawk, devil may cry 4 etc etc. so both will have a much broader range of games. so yeah thats my little rant, dont bag on the ps3 its a hella good bargain for a blue ray player and so far the word is pretty positive and same with the wii. and for technical issues that ppl will peg the ps3 for, i think you should look at almost every system launch in history. they always have problems.
