i picked Claudio just because he pretty much makes the music of the band and is the brains behind the story. second i woulda picked Ben Gibbard cuz DC is basically him with a supporting band. i wouldnt vote for Aaron just for the fact that with the addition of Spencer they finally reached their peak and the sound that defines them

i saw crica survive last night at roseland with Rise Against, wasn't entriely impressed, sound like a mixture of ATDI, and some other band i had last night (but due to the concusion forget)

I say Ace. I see him as the main musical force in that band considering his solo stuff is pretty much the same thing. All the other's solo stuff is a huge departure from their current bands. Without them, those bands would pretty much sound the same. As for Ben, everything Chris Walla touches (writing or producing) has a death cab touch which makes me believe that he is one of the if not the largest musical contributor to that band.

granted i dont know too much about Circa, it seems to me that just because anthony green makes the band popular, it doesn't necessarily mean he makes/defines the band itself. In other words, if he left, I feel like the band would continue, theyd just lose a valuable member in the vocals. This is pretty clearly not the case with Coheed and Early November though (and from what I understand about them, Death Cab too). I voted for Claudio.

Oh, and the most valuable member of Panic! is Pete Wentz, not anyone actually in the band. (I like their music, but seriously...)

there are many other valuable musicians, but while someone else picked those that's fine, i went with ace, he's a writing machine, we'll see if he'll reach this next year with his solo album or rest.. i also thought of anthony green and claudio.. and i wouldn't say that any of them (mentioned in replies) does 'everything', it sucks for rest of their bands, they have a part in it too so i wouldn't miss that :-)

This isn't really fair, considering that basically all except Aaron, Wentz, and Panic dude are the singers. I went with Death Cab, seeing as it started literally as Ben Gibbard, and so it is the band I could least see picking up another vocalist and going on.
