ok...here's the arguement i just had with one of my roommates. i'll preface this by saying that i have 3 roommates, live in an old drafty house in boston, and tom(he is 25) make almost twice as much money as me.
tom: i dont want to get heating oil this winter, i just got a space heater.
me: um, no. my room is the size of a closet so that wouldnt work for me.
audrey: my house burned down when i was 7 because of a space heater. we are getting heating oil.
tom: well i am not going to use it, so i dont want to pay for it.
(audrey and i have dumbfounded looks on our faces now)
me: well i watch probably 3 hours of tv a week, i only want to pay for 3 hours worht of the cable bill now.
audrey: i dont use the dish washer, so i don't want to pay for the electricity used for it.
(now tom looks mad and he storms into his room)
we share a house, share the internet bill, share the electricity bill, so we should share the heating bill too. what can i do to slap some sense into tom?
