HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Linkin Park has a great live show with more energy than most bands that play Bamboozle/S&S normally.
You can expect the lineup of supporting bands to be amazing; definitely get 2 day passes.

I'm excited to hear the new Linkin Park album in 07, Rick Rubin is working with them and they are going in a different direction. They've always had a good handful of songs that I've loved.

That would be sweeeeeeeeet.
and I agree with you about LP. while I don't know that its necessarily a fit for what the Bamboozle is thought to be, they put on one hell of a live show. *shrugs*
doesn't matter for me though, my finals start the 7th so I wasn't going Sunday unless Something Corporate showed up. haha.

I completely agree. It was far better in Asbury Park, not to mention last year...awful, just awful (and not necessarily because of who played).

Not a bad idea. I'd love to see Finch again because last time I saw them, they were super disappointing...I'm hoping it was just a fluke because they were good when I saw them the first time. Then again, the venue had blue glitter walls so I'm sure it was difficult to produce anything decent in such a room.

ACA,
While I love those two bands, their popularity has waned increasingly in the past couple years and therefor aren't big enough to headline a festival of such magnitude. MCR and LP, at this point, still are.
LP isn't a bad headliner at all. I would rather see them then MCR. But anyways, they have a good live show. I saw them with Less Than Jake and The Used a few years back at it was impressive. It wasn't all theatrics and its just good music. Im not a huge LP fan but they will be worth sticking around for

I feel the same way. It's ridiculous how commercialized the festival has become. After looking at the 2002 lineup for Skate and Surf, it got me thinking how my experience will transfer to kids getting in the scene now. Especially the atmosphere of Giants Stadium compared to the Convention Hall. I say this being a fan of Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance.

Oh, you people are ridiculous, they annouced two damn bands.
And no matter who they annouced as headliners you would hem and haw because it isn't "cool underground band" or "lyrical genius". There will be plenty of good bands there don't worry.
And also, the headliners aren't meant to attract fans like us, it is mean to attract the masses.
I know I will be going. See everyone there.

Maybe this year the movielife will agree to reunite.

11/21/06, 01:13 PM
Hate to disappoint everyone who's turned off by this year's headliners but Bamboozle has become a festival that is geared towards the masses. They're going to make more money if they have an act like Linkin Park who have sold millions upon millions of records over someone who has never reached top 40 radio like Lifetime or some of the others mentioned on here.
On the bright side it's two days with a shit load of bands. There's bound to be something for everyone. If you don't like who's headlining then lucky you because that means you can leave early and miss all the traffic.
Just go, what else are you gonna do that weekend?
chokeychicken
11/21/06, 01:20 PM
this shocked the hell out of me. but i have a few things to say.
first of all, why linkin park? i'm not going to lie; before i got really into this scene, in 6th and 7th grade, i LOVED linkin park. I still remember listening to their first CD and MXPX's "Slowly going the way.." on the busride home from 6th grade almost every day. I've seen them live twice, and they are fantastic.
But I think putting Linkin Park at the top of a festival like this is a waste of everybody's time. Hell, why not just go all out and let Celine Deon headline? Why not let a reunited Creed headline? Hell, why not let Eddie Guerrero come back and let him fucking headline. If you want shock value, Mama Cita can certainly bring the heat.
but seriously. let linkin park's first US show in 2 years be on the family values tour or on tour with Hinder. That's where they fit in.
I just feel like, taking nothing away from Linkin Park, there are so many other bands that deserve and would fill this spot so much better. LP puts on a great live show, but putting them on a festival like this is nothing but a waste of time, money, and a headlining spot at a huge festival.
And also, whoever suggested Glassjaw or Jimmy Eat World headline one day, they are fucking genius and need to be running this thing. Glassjaw is not going to happen, but JEW could totally headline, and with a new CD coming out, it would work out perfectly. But we're just the fans; what do we know?
And lastly - STOP saying the get up kids are going to reunite at bamboozle. Not only is it not going to happen, but i don't WANT it to happen. If the GUK ever back together, I want it to be at a tiny place in Kanas City, or even the Uptown Theatre - where they ended it all, where the fans can come together and appreciate that band. Not at some shitty festival where 10 kids know who the band is and all the girls with cute is what we aim for and panic! shirts have no idea what the hell is going on - because that's exactly what it was like at lifetime at bamboozle 06.
if anybody is goign to reunite solely for bamboozle, i think it should be jawbreaker.
hahaha. just kidding. it should be the movielife, but that's not going to happen. so let's make it finch.
just my two cents.

i wish these people who run this thing would poll the people that actually come to bamboozle to see who they should get to play. oh well, i still had fun last year. although i do prefer the asbury park location over the east rutherford location. last year just seemed like a big glorified warped tour to me.

i love how everyone is bitching and moaning about how Linkin Park is headlinging Bamboozle this year..but come that day when they hit the stage everyone is going to be singing along to the songs, just because everyone knows them and secretly everyone loves them to a point.
you bitching on here isnt going to get the lineup changed.

Linkin Park just being there would be cool but headlining?? You say they want to appeal to the masses but there are numerous bands I could name that are gonna be much bigger than Linkin Park come May. Hell, LP haven't released an album in years (I'm not counting Collision Course). I'm not liking this too much...

Linkin Park does put on a great live show. Honestly if Linkin Park bothers some of you, you can just leave once their set starts. Problem solved. Unless it's the "principle" behind it. I think it's nice to have a band like them on that tour. It's a change that I welcome.

11/21/06, 02:41 PM
haha. who cares who's headlining, the kids who are coming for MCR and LP and, i dunno, kelly clarkson wouldve paid $65 to see ONE of those artists, and probably won't know 85% of the other bands. we get a better deal if you think about it, they're practically paying for us to see 50 bands it would cost hundreds to see otherwise... ANYWAY.
and as someone said, miss the traffic. though it would totally fulfill my 7th grade dreams to see some LP :-D

well that came out of left field. go figure the band i'd nvr want to see is playing the day that i'd be able to go (if this was 5 years ago i'd be all up on that, but its not). fucking SATs are that Saturday, I wonder if I could take them and then get to NJ in time?

Linkin Park struck me as an odd choice at first but, when you think about it, they do fit in with Bamboozle's overall goal of expansion. With Meteora, they established themselves as the biggest rock band in the country, if not the world, so it's only logical for them to play at a festival that is striving to become one of the biggest in the country.
