Will ring tones be the end of music as we know it? Here's a very interesting article (http://www.alternet.org/story/44375) which I expect will spur discussion on the topic.

I dont use my cell phone enough to bother with ring tones personally. But then I could care less if I had one or not. I think it rings Head Automatica though.
i remember in the early days of cell phones, before you could easily buy ringtones through your service provider, i typed in the musical notes to What's My Age Again on my numerical keypad.. and it seriously sounded better than if I were to buy the actual "real-tone" today.

I make my own. I get exactly what I want and save myself some money. If I had to pay $4 or whatever for each one, I'd probably just buy one and use it for all my calls.

I'm considering renouncing my Canadian citizenship now.
What happened to the good 'ol days when the phone rang, all you heard was "ring, ring?"
Personally, I dislike ringtones. I usually leave my phone on vibrate, and if I have to hear my phone, I just put on the normal Continental (that's the normal "ring ring" on my phone) ringtone.

Ha, fuck that. Ever since high school I have wanted to put the intro to Dammit as a ringtone. I juuuuust was able to do that. Sometimes I don't pick up the phone cause' i'm too busy rockin' out.

ringtones need to get in line between bit torrent, kazaa, napster, the CD-R, and the tape recorder.
people have been predicting the end of the music industry since it began.

Although I have to admit, that most people here don't have a good taste in music at all..
I used to have a couple of blink ringtones a few years ago too (on my old cell phone), but they used to be free back then : (

yeah i make my own, for free, from songs they wouldn't be selling anyway. and then i dance to them and miss every call but it's worth it ;)
