The trailer for the remake of the classic slasher is up on IGN (http://media.movies.ign.com/media/738/738378/vids_1.html)

i think it sorta sucks that they have a whole origin for the killer. thats what made the original so scary... the fact that you had no idea who this killer was, what he looked like, or what his motive was. it was just some deranged guy with no identity.

from what ive seen so far, it looks as if hollywood is looking to butcher yet another horror classic.

fans of the original, discuss how you think this remake will turn out. and if you havent seen it, i highly suggest picking up the original... im a big horror buff, and hardly any movie can scare anymore... except this one.

oh, i didnt know that this was a remake. but then again I should have just assumed, because there are like no new horror movies.

Why are they releasing this on Christmas Day? bad idea, they would have made more if they released it in early december. I dont wanna see a christams movie after christmas, let alone one that looks this dumb.

and michelle trachtenberg.

they both grew up nicely.

i'll be going to see it just because i fully support horror movies opening on christmas. it'll be bad, but whatever.

for those of you who havent seen the original, i give it my highest recommendation. im sure now that the remake is out, they'll release the original again as a special-edition.

it's pretty much just a remake by title alone.

i don't think there's really any similarities between the two. they made this one a slasher film.

but i cosign recommending the original.

In no way do I believe you. This movie makes Ultraviolet look like a classic of film.

eh.

i liked it for what it was: a silly, sick, twisted, gory movie with michelle trachtenberg and lacey chabert.

people need to stop bitching about movies being remade, because without this remake no one would even know about the original.

I still think of Michelle Trachtenberg as Harriet the Spy.

Exactly what it should be. Anyone going into this with any sort of high expectation is doing it all wrong..

You need to see Silent Night, Deadly Night.

It was a mediocre flick. I mostly went to just see Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Lacey Chabert, and because I liked Glen Morgan because he worked on the X-Files and the Final Destination series. The film turned out better than I expected though. I was thinking it would wind up like The Fog remake, but it wasn't that bad.
