The Letters Organize (http://www.myspace.com/thelettersorganize) have broken up.
Okay so we have been keeping this a secret for a while but The Letters Organize are no longer playing music together. There are several reasons and, depending on whom you ask in the band, 4 different stories. But the bottom line is no matter how we forced our band down people throats, no matter how far and long we toured, no matter how many people with played in front of, no matter what was coming up next, no matter who liked us we still felt trapped we still felt like we dug a hole we could not climb out of..... We were Trapped in an awful music scene flooded with overly fashionable scene kids that care nothing about the actual music. Also trapped in a scene with carbon copy bands and terrible music and very very very little honesty (not all but most). We tried to shine through. We tried to be heard. Yes we made mistake in trying but at least we learned from them. Yes we did this band for ourselves but we also all had different ideas and different feelings on the next step. One thing we all did agree with is that good music should speak for itself......We all got ourselves into more debt then you can imagine which took a toll on our hearts, bodies and mind. As much as we loved playing with each other and as great of a band as we thought we were, to throw another record out there and do it all over again seemed (as a whole) one of the hardest task we had come across yet. Some people in the band had no motivation to finish the record and others wanted to never tour again unless it was worth it ( but what would be worth it?).

Never heard of these guys, but that's a shame. However, the break-up "avatar" is great.

I talked to TLO a while back and they seemed like some of the nicest people in the scene. I feel bad for them.

i would've totally titled this "the letters unorganize" or "the letters aren't organized any longer because they broke up"

So a band breaks up because there are too many sucky bands out today and superficial fans.

well look at Dillinger I would definately say they are not a scene band. and there are many others out there...as well as shitty hardcore bands. I think to blame it on the over saturation of scene bands is kinda lame. If your music is genuinely good and honest. It shouldn't matter if you dress the part or not. Dillinger Escape Plan is the perfect example.

because trying to play in a band for a living is tanamount to playing the slots for a living.

I can see where they're coming from.. they played amazing music, busted their balls for years, and then see some shitty band like Hawthorne Heights selling a million albums.. it'd kill my spirits, too :/

RIP, you will be missed.

i think that the oversaturation does hurt bands. honestly, talent goes unnoticed because there are talentless rip-off bands out there stealing the thunder of true artists, people who pour their heart and souls into becoming great musicians and songwriters, only to feel no acknowledgment for their efforts. it's sad, but true. it should be about music, not hair, not who-you-know in the business, and certainly not make-up, just music. it's a shame.

this is pretty much the same thing Willie from the Plot to Blow Up the Effiel Tower told me why they were breaking up, but he did say that the last bit of songs they recorded would be coming out early next year sometime....damn shame for both these bands, both two great live and studio bands...

Gambling is considered a sin... being a band is not.

It is a risk, being in a band, but if it's what you're supposed to do you can't do anything else... it's something you can't ever get away from.

my mistake i didnt notice this was absolutejesus.net

if your into making music you cant get away from that. but you know what else you cant get away from? debt. being in a band is expensive especially when you dont live with your parents and have to pay rent, health insurance, car insurance etc. its a nice pipe dream to think you only ever have to do what you love and can survive but when you get into the position of trying to have a family and support yourself and others sometimes you have to make ends meet how you can and they may mean you have to move one from touring the country to take care of your responsibilities.

just because you love making music doesnt mean you have to be in a touring band, thats only one way to do it.
