I really like The Tabernacle in Atlanta. It has such a neat atmosphere. The sound in there is always good too.

I've heard a lot of good things about Atlanta. who should i try and see while i'm down there?
The only time I was in FL was for Orlando Magic Fest in 03, that was sick!

There's a place called Club Good Hurt that I went to once. I'm not sure if they still have bands, but it was a pretty cool bar. i'm pretty sure this is the site http://www.goodhurt.net I haven't been to l.a. all that much, but the last time i was there I saw a show in a loft/diy art gallery space called the Hear gallery. the guys who owned it are in a band called the lights from here.

emerson theater in indianapolis

murat is a nice place too.
although the shows in the egyptian room usually involve well known bands (tbs, etc) and the kids there are shitty. but that takes nothing away from the venue itself which is gorgeous, and the sound system is great
the murat theatre is great for bands like death cab.

that's awesome, i've only driven through indianapolis a few times and never knew where to stop and hang out.

my favorite venue is The Pageant in St.Louis.

Its in the Delmar Loop, where all the emos are. (Emos are cute!)

And, its got awesome hang outs, a DelTaco (yummy!), bunches of little pubs and restaurants, and not only that, but they have the ideal after-concert place to go: Jack In the Box!

My friends and I went there after the HIM concert at The Pageant in May 2006.

And after the AFI concert in July 2006, we stayed back and waited outside to meet the band. I got to meet Davey Havok and he signed my poster.

I've got lots and lots of memories there at The Pageant. Good times, good times.

Besides, it has the tiniest, yet, awesomest mosh pit in the world.

And, you're in almost perfect reach of the stage.

Ok, I'm stopping.

But Don Vito came to STL when HIM came to The Pageant last October (2005) and drank beer in the bar. And he introduced HIM.

OK OK I gotta stop.
Bye.

my favorite venue is The Pageant in St.Louis.

I've never been to the Pageant and I hope to never go. Sorry. And(on a creepy note) I see you live in O'Fallon, I'm staying in O'Fallon with my parents right now because I broke my leg and am a cripple, just a statement. And if you want any info on more of the underground punk shows going on let me know, we do most things by word of mouth.

ANWAY.

St. Louis has a couple really cool DIY venues if you are into that kind of thing. The Lemp Arts Center is kind of stuck up but has a reputation and on occasion gets some cool shows.

The Slaughterhouse is one of the most insane venues you will ever go to. It's in the basement of a turn of the century slaughterhouse in a punk houses backyard. One rickety staircase is the only way down. Some of the best shows have ever seen have been here. Mostly hardcore and punk.

As lame as it is, my house is one of my favorites too, The Skullfuckeree, we do mostly punk and underground pop-punk.

that's totally awesome.

(doesn't mind new stalker!)

yeah, that's ok about your feelings on the pageant, i personally prefer the Creepy Crawl or The Pit. But all my favorite big bands go to The Pageant, so that's why I love them so much. Yeah, I'd love for you to tell me about the underground stuff!

So, to add to the stalkerness, what part of O'Fallon are you in right now, may I ask?
North or South? Landmarks? By 70 or 40?

*dances for finding a new friend*

I'm a MN kid.

As much as I didn't care for The Quest at the time, now that its pretty much dead I miss it.

I love the Triple Rock and the Toybox. As much as I don't love The Garage, I've never been dissapointed by a show there. Station 4 is quickly growing on me. The Varsity Theatre is the MOST BEAUTIFUL place I've ever been to.

I also completly adore The Warehouse!

I do not like The Myth, The Rave, or The House of Blues-Chicago.

Bottom of the Hill in SF. Very small and amazingly close to the band. Unfortunately their audio setup is far from stellar. Which is why Slims would have to be my other favorite.

Warfield in SF is really beautiful but the homeless people scare the shit out of me haha

Closer to home I like Jerry's Pizza. The stage is in the basement and probably the most intimate venues there is.

In LA it's all about the Troubador. Such a cool vibe to the whole place.

The Creepy Sucks. The Pageant is without a doubt THE place in St. Louis. Mississippi Nights would be a lot better if they had AC. It's easily over 100 degrees in there in the summer.

The Avalon in Boston, MA is the best place to see a show. Its not too big, not to small and everyone is close to the stage and can see everything from anywhere in that place. its the only place you are most likely to rub elbows with the band.

Avalon is pretty sick. My favorites in the area are definitely:

The Middle East - Cambridge, MA...pretty small bar, lots of indie/punk/rock

AS220 - Providence, RI...tiny, good hardcore

Harper's Ferry - Allston, MA...another small bar, saw a SICK afternoon Converge show there

the OLD Lupo's - Providence, RI...they moved locations in like 2002 or something, the "new" club sucks, the old was insanely amazing

The Palladium - Worcester, MA...pretty big, pretty shitty to be honest, but I basically lived there during my high school days, so its on this list for nostalgic value

Tsongas Arena - Lowell, MA...first off, lowell sucks, but this place is real cool. yes its an arena, but it only has one section of seating (as opposed to 3 like usual arenas) so its got like a 7,000 capacity, and the whole place is general admission, which is kickass

I haven't been to many shows, but most of the more recent ones I have seen were at the Electric Factory and Trocadero and of those two, I have enjoyed the shows at the Troc the most.

Most of the shows I go to are at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. It's a nice venue (although pretty slow on set changes). Overall a good place to see shows though cuz they get some good bands and the shows are usually pretty cheap.
