You can now stream all of Clipse (http://www.myspace.com/clipse)'s new album, Hell Hath No Fury, on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/clipse). What do you think - hip-hop album of the year?

are you saying that to us like "it is the hip hop album of the year" in a way where you want us to listen to it cuz you think so

or

asking us to listen to it as just a suggestion
?

this album is pretty good. other contenders for hiphop of the year... T.I., rick ross and akon

.KillMoneen.
11/27/06, 09:14 PM
akon eh? Smack that? How about worse album of the year?

The answer is yes, but what are the contenders? Kingdome Come? God no.

clipse easily made the hip hop album of the year. Fuck Jay-z. Nas isn't going to touch this either. It's time for the new wave to take over.

I don't know I have a soft spot for Lupe's newest, but Clipse is currently a lot higher in my rotation.

What is this absoluteCrap.net? I hate hip-hop!!!! Listen to The Hush SOund blablablablabalbla!!!!!

Seriously though, I refuse to listen till I have the physical album in my hands. Most anticipated of the whole dang year.

Hell Hath No Fury is easily the best hip-hop album released this year. In fact, it may very well be the best album of any genre released this year.

akon eh? Smack that? How about worse album of the year?
The new Akon album is honestly surprisingly not that bad...

At the very least, it's fun.

artists like clipse, T.I. and Akon are pop. Hip hop is dead. Do yourself a favor and listen to some early j-live, souls of mischief, jeru tha damaja, and gangstarr. Actually...nevermind.

I would have to say for me Ludacris definitely has the best hip hop album of the year I've heard.

1. Luda
2. T.I.
3. Jay-Z

If you think you are going to register to these boards and give everyone a lesson in hip hop, you could be mistaken. There are alot of people that post here regularly that have a great knowledge of hip hop, myself NOT included.
as far as I'm concerned, there will never be another like KRS One, and that's fine by me.

Not my top hip hop of the year but one of them, game theory was amazing, as were the hi-tek and dilla albums, murs' "murrays revenge" was great. The new luda was brilliant as well.

Plus papoose's the nacirema dream drops the day after christmas

I like that the album is more lyrically driven then most hip hop albums. They really focused on lyrical hiphop instead of over produced club bangers. The album is exremely stripped down and very basic for a hip hop record. Most songs only contain a few tracks but lush instrumentation. Cocaine rap at its finest.

10/10

Hip hop album of the year.

Clipse is the farthest thing from pop hip hop, get a fuckin clue.

Sounds pretty good so far. Wasnt really impressed with any of the the new Jay z stuff I've heard, heard some of the new Game which sounded pretty good. I'm really looking forward to the new Nas, that shits gonna be sweet.

Yup, someone like this was eventually going to rear their ugly backpacker head. We're soooooo impressed you listen to boring old 90's bay area hip-hop. You forgot to mention Peanut Butter Wolf, by the way...

2nd place isnt bad though.

this dude's right.

the roots for sure.

new jay z was way disappointing.

new clipse is amazing.

what about lupe and new meth?

and although many would probably disagree, the game pretty much brought back the west coast with doctor's advocate. most will probably automatically write it off, but it's so reminiscent of early west coast material. keep in mind that most west coast classics didn't have amazing lyrical content. it was all about their swagger, beats, and pride in the west. game has it all.

i like how the new trend in the scene is wearing dunks, obey, and new era hats with the stickers still on. i also love how the fashion shift was almost simultaneous throughout all the scene kids.

Are Mos and Ghostface not coming out with albums next month still?

Definitely hip-hop album of the year, and up there with album of the year in general. Only other memorable hip-hop albums I can think of are The Roots and Jedi Mind Tricks.

hiphop album of the year: jedi mind tricks- servants in heaven.

that very well could be the hiphop album of the year, although not my fave from JMT. Visions of Gandhi is perhaps in my top 5 hiphop cds. but to the guy who said hiphop was dead, like not even. sure you have some mainstream garbage like p. diddy and lloyd banks (but the new jayz is alright, lupe is fantastic, fort minor's mixtape is AMAZING, kanye is ill) but you gotta look deep for the gems.

my top 5 hiphop albums right now (no order)

1. atmosphere - seven's travels (and yes, i have listened to old atmosphere as well)
2. JMT - visions of gandhi
3. apathy (represent CT!) - wheres your album?!!
4. fort minor - we major mixtape
5. tie between lupe's "food n liquor" and felt "2: tribute to lisa bonet"
