Does anyone have audio rip or do you know if they will release this version as a single on iTunes? They shaved fourty-three seconds off of it and it sounds incredible. The video is awesome as well.

interesting - i guess you can't have a mid-tempo modern rock hit if the song's not mid-tempo, ha. I don't know which version I like better. I like the new record, quite a bit, i think it's so much better than A Mark, A Mission - not as good as the two before it, but "so long, so long" with Adam Duritz is fantastic.

I like the sped up version...but...I think my favorite version was the more stripped down, acoustic version they performed on Fuse when the album first came out.

I think the sped up version is great and a good move. While I love the album version, this will definitely appeal to more people and that's positive. Now that I've heard this version, it definitely makes the album version seem like it was excessively elongated.

It's got a cute story, too. The tarot cards that are literally images of the future... neat idea. The director packed a lot of story into this. The cuts could have been a little less frequent though. I feel like you'd have to watch it in slo-mo to catch everything.

well, he's hoping to get that video played on stations so the amount of money they spent on it wont go completely to waste when it gets added to the mountain of money he must recoupe.

I like both versions, but I feel if I had heard this faster version first, I would have loved this song moreso than any other on D&S. I think this song has great hit potential, and he seems to make it a better rock song, rather than a lilting, slow ballad. I approve, I think it works immensely better. I usually hate it when bands feel the need to "remake" songs that were released less than a year ago, but this works for me. Hope they put it on iTunes.

I like...alot. I loved the new record (alot different...but still a great cd in it's own right...), but this song is juts kick ass....great for something different from good ole' Chris.

i very much dislike the radio edit....hardcore. dashboard is turning into too much glam. its starting to become about the fame. the ONLY reason this song is sped up is to make it more radio friendly. to me the faster tempo completely takes away the message of the song. the album cut is amazing.

Yeah, I'm sure the director of the video was like hmm I'll speed up the tempo of the song without telling the band, since I totally have control over that sort of thing. Furthermore, I'll shoot the video so masterfully that the band wont even realize that the song is speed up and ask why they are singing and playing their instruments more quickly. I am the best music video director ever.

In your opinion anyway, I think this album is so much better than his previous stuff. It totally sounds like summer. He captured so many feelings. Who else can do that so well?

Too bad it didn't translate in concert...most boring show I've ever seen. I've never wanted to leave a show so bad in my life.

actually this was no decision of the director of the video. its the radio edit. they have been playing it this way live too. so no, it is dashboard's decision.

i like both versions. it's cool to hear this one though. and if he wants to speed stuff up now, from the album that he already put out, then i'm okay with that.
but i'll keep my fingers crossed that he stays true to his word and goes back to the old stuff/basics/roots...whatever you want to call it.
