This game looks way epic. If you already have heard the buzz about Spore then you already know but for anyone who hasn't heard, Spore is Maxis (the people who did all the sims) new project and it looks so sick. The scope of the game is huge. Check it out if you like ANY RTS games or any of the Sims games. When this hits in September it will make waves.

I've been reading about this for a while and I think I'm going to take the plunge and download the creature creator. I remember when I first played the original Sims when that was new and how amazing an experience that was and I'm getting a similar possible vibe from this, except way cooler.

Unfortunately, the Creature Creator made my computer crash repeatedly, so I can't imagine a scenario where I'll be able to play Spore. Looks like I'm going to finally have to sit down and fix all the things that are wrong with my computer.

I'm glad they decided to release this for Macs as well. However, I don't think I'll be picking this up. I would have loved some sort of multiplayer aspect where you can travel to other people's planets and do as you please but it appears it's more of a media-sharing take on multiplayer.

I'm sure the game will be awesome either way.

I managed to get SPORE early, it's awesome. I've only just started the fourth phase and each phase radically changes the game type. Pretty cool. I usually spend more time naming my creatures than actually playing the game or even creating them.

So I bought it on launch day and I have mixed feelings. The cell stage is fun all the way through, the creature stage is pretty cool most of the time and starts to drag at the end. The gameplay is very uncomplex and can drag on. I just plain don't like the tribal stage, and after I destroyed 4 other villages and was working on the fifith all my people died and it sent me "back in time" about two hours gameplay wise. At that point I quit because the tribal stage is not at all fun and I didn't want to redo those two hours of work.

I have yet to play the civilization or space stages. All that said the creative aspects are very cool, and I think if you go in wanting that more than a state of the art rpg, rts, or anything else you will enjoy the experience.

I got the iPhone version last night and it's pretty damn fun. I couldn't see myself dedicating days to playing this on the computer, but picking up on my phone for a little while is plenty fun.

It's just a small creature creator and the stage where you float around and eat things smaller than you. It's pretty fun.

I stopped on the individual character stage. That was the part that looked best to me, and it is the most repetitive thing ever. The whole thing is just singing/dancing to get allies or attacking other species and getting experience.

If you're creative and like making things then yes, it's a great game. Yeah it's simple and easy to play, but that's what's fun about it. Seeing your own made creature run around, interact, evolve, etc. I personally think it's very addicting and love it, and I'm usually not into games like this.
