well there's no more bands singing songs like holiday in cambodia (DK), police story (black flag) or john wayne was a nazi (mdc) so i would say punk became more pc, but on the other hand there's still bands like Rich Kids on Lsd, even though they are a pretty old band, they're releasing a new album soon so they still count. and there's the occasional band that will have "drinking and driving is fun" (dirty mary) or something of the like.

as a whole punk became more pc thanks to green day (i'll probably get some negative responces to that but it's true) green day was like the first punk band to be on mtv which contributed to the pussification of the punk genre. after green day there were countless teeny boppers that wanted to be "punk" and bought a guitar, the result is punk becoming even more pop, giving us bands like blink 182 and good charlotte, and eventually even avril lavigne claiming to be punk. and of course pop bands have to be pc or their records don't sell.

there's still plenty of good punk bands out there that don't go out of their way to be pc, you just have to look through throngs of shitty generic bands to find them.
