why do people whine about plot-building/bridge episodes? i don't ever understand it. why don't you just wait for the DVDs to come out instead of bitching throughout the entire season cause you don't have patience? and "it's getting bad again?" ONE EPISODE HAS AIRED since the "so awesome" episode. just chill.

to be honest, that "so awesome" episode actually was really lame up until the last 15 minutes or so. but i still loved the episode yea. but seriously... it was really boring up til Jack was holding on under the truck, only then did it get kick ass.

so to say last week's was awful. just doesnt make sense. it was the same damn thing basically. lots of conversations and then some interesting moments near the end. it's just that this week was more plot advancing then kick ass time. which is fine. cause if it was the same thing every week i'd probably stop watching (cue people saying it is the same thing every week. whatever)

very true. all 24 seasons need to have these "bridge episodes" and all seasons do have them. i also hate people who bitch about how "awful" and episode is, when in reality it really wasn't all that bad. the last 15 minutes got a lot more interesting, and last 5 shows the jack that we love to see - rogue jack.

Okay... That makes sense. Why would I wait for the show that I really do like to come out on DVD? The seasons are always the same. The writers had a great opportunity to have Audrey be in, oh I don't know... China. They decided to instead have her be in LA giving the chance for the show to move to another location for the next season to be ruined...

Change the format slightly. Quit doing terrorist stuff and do something different. Different location and plot...

they did that w/ this season, when they ended the terrorist stuff w/ fayed during the middle of the season. they are now focusing in on more diplomatic/political stuff w/ the chinese and even within the presidency. The chance for the show to move to another location isn't necessarily ruined, because you haven't seen the last episode of this season. don't be too quick to judge.

They did the same format LAST season too... remember it ended with the President story line. Its nothing new.

They had a great chance last season with the way the ended it where he was on a freakin' boat. Then they squandered that by bringing it back. Just think, they can still do it the series outside of LA. CTU is a part of Jack so they would be involved whether its terrorist related or not...

This is just my opinion on chances they have ruined by staying inside the box.

Season three and five are the ones that were great from front to back. The rest start off wonderful, and end weak. It's the same thing I feel every season, except last. Loved season five.

And I said the episode two episodes back was great because of the ideas it created, making it seem as if the show might switch gears for a bit... Thats why I said that.

Yeah, I was bored again. I just don't like the format of this show. It's the exact same thing every, freakin, season. I would have had them go to China to rescue her or something neat.

And I don't think the last four episodes will make this a standout season. It started off slow, picked up, then completely slowed down again into the same routine as every season.

Shame. Three and Five were the best seasons. And again, this is just my opinion but I have my reasons. I don't expect every episode to be amazing but this season just isn't doing a very good job at much...

i see where you're coming from, but i still like this season overall. when it drops on DVD, i think it will seem less weak, because watching it continuously is much better than waiting one week between episodes, especially between episodes that arent that action-packed like last and this weeks, i can see how it starts to get extremely frustrating.

as season 6 comes to a close, i think it'll start picking up, but it is hard to have things pick up w/ fayed's death, and then "lala zone," (where the writers seem to just advance the plot and that is it).

the most recent episode was a little different, especially because they didn't really do a good job w/ a "cliff hanger", except for you to try to figure out what happened to audrey. i just hope that next week's episode is action packed.

Ok this is a big one...and juicy thing aswell

Remember when Cheng had some men getting ready to do some task in the few pages I had of episode 21? Well turns out, it was a plan to attack CTU and kidnap Josh.

I think at the end of episode 21, they will have breached CTU via sewer tunnels. The lead chinese guy, Zhou, will ask who is in charge. This is where Milo dies. I'm not sure exactly what happens, but it will be something to the extent of Milo standing up to the question, and Nadia hesitates/is scared. What I do know is that Nadia continues to blame herself for his death, so that leads me to believe that he died because she didn't say that she was in charge of CTU (remember, Bill leaves in episode 19).

Anyway, in episode 22, the gunmen gather up the CTU personal and take Josh. Marilyn is trying to get him back but Josh restrains her from getting in danger. Then zhou is about to hit Marilyn with his gun but Jack catches his arm and stops him.

I have 2 different versions of what happens here. In one version, Zhou is moving all the CTU people to a holding room while they leave. Jack walks slowly so he is in the back of the line. He whispers to Nadia a plan to stop them. After everyone in front of them enters the holding room, Jack and Nadia suprise attack the gunmen but Josh has already been taken away. The gunmen Nadia is attacking gets the best of her and is about to shoot her, but Doyle and his men arrive and shoot them down. The second version was the same except instead of Nadia, it was Morris.

So Josh is handed over to Cheng with some gettaway vehicles. Jack and Doyle are chasing after them through the tunnels and shoot the cars. A shootout occurs and Cheng gets out with Josh and runs on foot. Long story short, they get Josh back and Cheng gets away.

24 To Change Course Next Year? (http://24fans.com/?p=272)

May 1st, 2007
“I don’t dispute it’s been a challenging season to write for us,” says Gordon. “But it’s reinvigorated our determination to reinvent the show. This year could be seen to be the last iteration of it in its current state.” … “I’ve got a couple of ideas, none of which I could even begin to share responsibly.”While I aim not to spoil anything which maybe coming up in the shows future I felt this was to big to ignore. This is the story that Exec Producer and current Show Runner Howard Gordon has said publicly that given the shows recent slight dip in ratings and probably more importantly critical maulings the show maybe in for a retooling next year. While such a change would most certainly have to make it past the other top execs and Fox, Gordon’s word certainly means a lot and I’d have to say that a well thought out course correction in the show is something which I would welcome.

I didn't watch it last night. For the first time ever, I watched Heroes instead. It's a better show - 24 has completely lost me this season, and honestly, I'm not even sure if I'll finish the season. It's been horrible.

Greg
05/01/07, 09:53 AM
i agree with it kinda losing people. i used make sure i NEVER missed watching it on time at 9. now i just do whatever and DL it overnight and watch it the next day. it has def lost something. but i will still watch it and finish the season. the cliff hanger at the end should be pretty good. we shall see.

yea, im starting to ween off 24 these last few weeks, Ive found ive spent more time searching the web for whats coming up in 24 then actually watching 24 itself. And as far as the cliffhanger it should be good hopefully.

Exactly. They're two equally good shows.24's already got it's street cred....figures it's time for Hero's to get theirs.

it's a shame this season went down the toilet. i thought for sure after jack killing curtis, the bomb going off, and graham being jack's brother, this was well on it's way to being the best season ever.

but besides jack going apeshit on fayed, what cool things have happened in the past 6 weeks?

2wo_2one

But think about it....how long can you play that storyline for?Couple of hours,at the most, but basing a whole season on Jack's rescue would more than likely drop 24's ratings.I don't think CTU-LA would have any pull overseas, and the torture can only go on for so long.

It's hard to keep a intense show like 24 going for 6 season.I think they're doing a great job so far.One problem, thought:the nuke storyline could've gone on a little longer,IMHO.At least unitl the other 3 were disarmed or detonated.

Imallout007

i think there doing a decent job with the storyline, but its really played out how they keep going back to the same stuff. Its getting predicable somewhat, i just want them to get back to what made 24 a great show, Jack going completly nuts, like he did on Fayed. Thats what made the show so popular, not these dragged out storylines and what not

Ok reading up on something, and i know most of you arent gonna like this but here goes, i know i was pissed when reading about this

Instead, it is Doyle who gets injured (possibly to write him off). It seems to happen around the time of the exchange of Josh and the fake chip. Something terrible happens to his eyes, I’m not sure what, but later in the episode Jack tells CTU that he may be blind in one or both eyes for the rest of his life. Perhaps the man on the jetski throws acid into his eyes or maybe the chip is designed to explode into his face? Anyways, it was nice knowing you Mike.

if that happens i seriously will be pretty upset with the show. they need to be able to bring in characters and keep them around. it gets old, when new characters come in, and don't understand how jack works. it gets way too annoying. if doyle dies i would be extremely furious. they already got their fix with david palmer, tony almeida, and michelle dressler. enough is enough.

I haven't watched an episode in two months, instead i've just been reading the summaries at Fox.com. Why is it the season after a show gets really popular, it either does great (The Office) or blows up on itself (24)?

put spoiler tags. and i have noticed that Jack is going back to CTU a lot. i hate how there are so many new people at CTU. They have hardly involved Chloe, except when she is in the drama with Morris. The side CTU stories are getting old and annoying. Changing the director of CTU from Bill to Nadia has been extremely annoying, even though getting rid of Bill was a pretty big twist.

Best line off the top of my head: S3 - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM -- when Jack's chasing the guy that starts running away after he and Chase go into the apartment building.

JACK BAUER: Don't even think about it.
ZACH (injured): I'm clean, I've got nothing on me.
JACK BAUER: Shut up, stupid. You just fired at a federal agent. You better start talking to me, or I will let you bleed to death right here on this landing.

according to the latest TV guide, the last few episodes will "blow us away with old 24 magic." apparently we have a huge jack vs. dad showdown and "some old story lines will be tied up so new ones can begin and carry over into the new season."

and also, this shocked the hell out of me...according to TV guide (don't read unless you like huge spoilers)

at least one character we thought was long dead returns, creating a happy ending for at least one couple on the show. wtf. tony and/or michelle?!

promising, but i'm still not impressed. 24 has taken a series back seat to LOST.

fucking a. i couldn't help myself. if tony is coming back, i am curious to see how the writers believe they can pull it off. in my opinion, if they don't pull it off, 95% of the writer's credibility will be shot, and they will be jumping the shark very quickly. despite all of that, i hope it's tony. i love that man.

promising, but i'm still not impressed. 24 has taken a series back seat to LOST.

i can see where you're coming from, but i just barely disagree. both season 6 of 24 and season 3 of lost have been disappointing, but i count 5 shitty episodes of LOST so far this season, and 4 from 24. the first month of episodes after lost came back from hiatus were 4 of the worst episodes of LOST i've seen. and on the other hand, some of the episodes have been the best i've seen...especially locke's episodes.

i would seriously shit a brick if tony comes back. after season 1, when tony was not the mole, i loved him immediately. however, it would be extremely hard for the writers of 24 to pull off a tony comeback, because they haven't mentioned any signs of him to anyone.

and to themostdeplete...the episode after tony dies, and they are taking the "body bag" out of the room, is it for sure tony, or could it have been the doctor? i don't remember.

Wow Milo gone and some good twist. I didnt really like Milo that much anyway and I was sick of the Nadia/Milo relationship drama. For some reason I thought Chang was trying to grab the kid in order to extort jack to do something for him. Going back to the theory that the kid was really jacks child. 2 episodes left but I dont really know where exactly they are going. Theres no big pending thing, just a bunch of small subplots. The CTU takeover is pretty big but not a huge deal. This is my first season watching 24 live on TV instead of DVD and I think it will be the only season in which I do so.

Yea, you'd think that they would upgrade security, but apparently Jack's dad had the security codes to lock down communication in CTU.

There are 3 episodes left. They say there are 2, but the last day that it airs (May 21) is a 2 hour finale.

Losing Bill was awful. They never mentioned Logan after they showed him being taken away in an ambulance.

I thought it was going to be Milo, if anyone died. When they showed Milo talking to Nadia, about "how feelings have changed" something had to be up for them randomly showing that, after avoiding it for the previous 2-3 episodes.

I love Doyle and pretty much loved him from day 1. If they do anything to get rid of him, I'll be pretty upset and disappointed.

One thing I'm dissapointed in: they have slowly taken away Chloe's role - they are showing less of her in episodes, even though she is one of the "veterans" of 24.

I wonder if they will ever kill Chloe off. I mean she has been here since day one, and I think they are running out of shock factors, so it wouldn't surprise me. I don't feel attached to her anymore though, I don't feel attached to any of them. I wouldn't care if Morris, Nadia, or Doyle died.

day one? as in season 6 day 1? I'm hoping that is what you mean.

I think Doyle can be a cool character - with time. He was just introduced like half way through the season so with time I think he can develop. It was kind of the same with Tony, at first, he was iffy, but then with time he became the second face of 24, until the dumbass writers "killed" him off.

I miss Bill a lot, they should have him try to work from the outside...I don't know why they haven't done that yet.

I won't pass judgement on the Logan situation until the season is over. They could easily explain his situation in one of the next two episodes. Maybe he will be in the hospital bed next to Palmer?

eh

no matter how they handle it... (if they do... cough*Behrooz*cough) it will be stupid.

actually. i have to take this to a spoiler level now. haha only read if youve read about the end of the season.

i just realized something. maybe this guy in the car is Logan. he is expected long dead by us. it would explain why they suddenly left him and not gone back, to build up the WTF factor to him being the TBD car driver. but i think it was supposed to be someone from a past season "dead", so he would not work there. who knows. i dont think ive seen anyone else guess Logan as TBD though

i cannot even believe what i'm about to type.

i laughed at 24 tonight. i laughed at its attempts to be dramatic, and i rolled my eyes at every commercial. i was so negative about the show tonight, my mom finally got so angry she went upstairs.

so, the finale is about trying to stop the russians from attacking.

..again? for the 4th time?

i thought all of this was going to be about audrey. turns out its about a kid who we've seen like 4 times, and i don't give a shit about.

kill the kid. end this season. i dont care whatsoever.

the chase-chang sequence was the most anti-climatic sequence 24 has ever done.

even if a huge character comes back .. even if they kill fucking jack - i'll be flipping back and forth during the finale.

consider this is a show i used to be willing to take a bullet for, that says a lot.

you of all people should know that when 24 is on top of its game, it is not just a tv show.

if you really love the show as much as you say, why would you ditch it for one sub-par season? i still think season one is the worst season, and season 6 is second. but then again, that's just IMO.

i thought tonight's episode was great??? and the finale actually looks promising? i just wanna finish season 6, and give writers a chance to revamp the show. i've read numerous places that 24 is getting a much needed facelift, rumors of day 7 taking place in another city, characters coming back, characters dying, speculation about the chinese finally becoming a terrorist-focus for next season.

and coming from a fellow lost fan, there was a month and a half of completely HORRID episodes after it's hiatus, and the writers turned it around too. 99% of shows have a week season or a weak run. and fuck, i've said this 100 times, but weak 24 > any television drama, personally. so it doesn't bother me as much as it bothers other people.

yes, lost was at its worst earlier in the season and its now, in my opinion, at its peak. and true - i've stuck through this show for 6 seasons now and of course i'm not going to give up on it because it has one bad year.

but they really dropped the ball.

they had the perfect twist last season; they had the perfect opportunity to do something different this season and prepare for the future and get some fresh storylines going. instead, they fell right back into the same holes using the same recycled plots.

i have no idea how any of you are excited for the finale - didn't we see this exact "will they nuke or wont they?!?" storyline like 8 episodes ago?

Normally, when 24 season finales air, I'm on the edge of my seat the entire time.

this season, i could care less. the season has turned out to revolve around a kid that hasn't been there most of the season, so nobody cares about him.

who cares if josh is jack's son?

who cares if he dies?

i don't.

i love how 24 fans love to brag about how good it is when its great, but they refuse to pick it apart when its not.

Obviously this has not been the season to live up to its hype, especially how great it started out, but 24 is still 24. Right now we know the kid really has no significance, but you never know what they may uncover. Phillip Bauer is a smart and intelligent man, and wouldn't be asking for Josh as his price if there wasn't anything there. I'm reserving judgment on the whole Josh thing until the finale airs. I'm pretty sure no 24 fan cares if Josh dies or not, but I wouldn't be too quick to judge. They brought him, his mom, and Grandpa Bauer back for a reason, so I'm not going to say if its good or bad, until the very end of the season.

i think Josh's purpose is just that he is a Bauer who Phillip might be able to conform to his fucked up ways. obviously Jack won't. and Marylin is useless. dumb reason. but thats what they've given us. Phillip's legacy.

i agree to an extent. i dont talk too much shit on 24, because after it's all over with, i still love the show. one weak season after 4 insane seasons that are hard to follow up with is frustrating, but overall doesn't piss me off too much. this season had tons of potential (the first 4 episodes were an incredible start) but they kind of messed up by leaving tons of unsolved plotlines and shit like that. i just really hope EVERYTHING changes about next season, especially if they are dropping doyle. . they need to develop great characters, new plotlines, new bad guys, new threats, can the white house drama, a good president, and good ol kill count jack.

Another reason I think Josh is Jack's son is that Baueresque kick to the China mans face so he could get away.

And did anyone else laugh when Josh screamed "help me Jack" or whatever it was but you couldnt hear it because he was in the helicopter. Or when Jack said "I know these sewers better than anyone." How is that?

So badass

and it would be fitting that Jack's son gets killed in the finale, it would just further the viscious cycle of death surrounding Jack, going back to what Heller said to him a couple episodes ago. Maybe he'll get killed right before/after Jack finally figures it out (that is, if he doesn't know) or maybe right before/after the kid finds out he is Jack's son

i really hope i'm right. i just don't see the point in bringing in some dumb kid when they are going to be changing stuff for next season. i really think there is a possibility that CTU wont even be around next season. i think Jack just wants to bang Josh's mom. so he's gotta play hero. or something.

Yea, definitely agree.

That is why season 3 stands out from the rest of them. We saw Jack at first addicted to heroin, after going undercover. Then Jack, Tony, and Gael be undercover. Not to mention Jack having a "sidekick" with Chase. Really stuff we haven't seen since season 3.

They need to do something dramatic at the end of season 6, and keep different twists and different ideas going on throughout all of season 7. Season 6 did a great job at the beginning of the season, hopefully the ending provides the same excitement.

i dont think anyone cares about your opinion still. you can stop it now. you said your deal before.(on top of THIS page) great, grand. now just atleast wait til you see it to bitch more. thanks.

i wasn't trying to beat a dead horse, gentlemen. i suppose i was, i guess its just frustrating when you aren't even looking forward to the season finale of a show that used to run your life.

i'm going into tonights episode with a very open mind and i really hope they can tie up some loose ends and set up some big changes for next season. we do still have 2 hours left; a lot can happen.

to be honest i am only really pumped for the last 5 minutes of the season. to me that'll justify the season. well maybe not justify, but as in giving the writer's a chance to basically admit "we have been slipping, so here is a sweet ending that wil change 24 forever". which might not even happen. but that is why im most excited about the last scene.

I'm still pretty pumped for the finale as a whole. The last 5-10 minutes of the finale is probably going to be great (fingers crossed) and hopefully will have me swearing profanities for the 7-8 months until Season 7.
