Cobra's not a flop at all. "The Church of Hot Addiction" has started getting significant airplay on mtvU and once 2007 rolls around, Pete Wentz will do his best to ensure that they take off. He said that Cobra's going to be the it band of 2007 and I'm inclined to believe him with his rabid fanbase. I think if the next single is "Send My Love to the Dancefloor", they have a great chance of mainstream success.

I've actually been in talks with people from the Official Midtown group on Yahoo! to do such a thing. But we don't know how to actually make it work. I would gladly spend $15 to do it though. If I could do anything to get Midtown back together, I definitely would. mhm...Every Midtown record has defined some part of my life, and I think that's what's made them mean so much to me. And ya, try a .tk site, they're totally free, or just go to freewebspace.com or homestead.com or wherever and just start the site. when i saw that this thread was on the first page i didnt even have to look at who the last poster was. i knew it was you.
I have no idea why you would think that.
i heard get it together on the warped comp first, then bought save the world. all 3 albums and the ep are great, one of my fave bands. i hate forget what you know at first but now it sone of my all time favourite albums, just takes a while to get used to gabe's change in voice i think. the lyrics on that album are some of the best i've ever read.
Maybe it's because I'm so biased, but I still can't fathom how so many people can't get into Forget What You Know. That's awesome that you were able to get into it and I can understand what you mean about Gabe's voice and such. I also love that their music is the kind that you can hear one song and be completely willing to buy every album by that band. /gushing.

that's the reason i got into it, cause i'm biased too. maybe it makes it harder for people who heard the earlier stuff first, same as me. i wasn't expecting as much of a change, the first song i heard from the album was give it up, which is the most similar to older stuff. so it was a bit of a shock to hear some of the songs. i don't often judge on first listens, which also helps a lot.

summerstars, which is the best album in your opinion?
I love each album for different reasons. I think each release has been solid in it's own right and I have some kind of attachment to all of them. With that being said, I'd have to say that Living Well...is my favorite album, if I really must choose. Although I had a pretty decent base in music before it, this album opened me up to so much. However, No Place Feels Like Home off of Save The World, Lose The Girl is my favorite song by them. If I were to rank the albums, I suppose they would go like this from favorite to least...
Living Well Is The Best Revenge
Save The World, Lose The Girl
Sacrifice Of Life
Forget What You Know
Keep in mind that even though I ranked these, they're all extremely close and it's hard to pick out which I like better.
Which is your favorite?
And, my name is Daniela, by the way.

i'd start from the beginning. get Save The World, then Living Well, and the Forget What You Know
beause their sounds pretty different between Forget What You Know and Save The World, it's been my experience when trying to expose my friends to Midtown that starting with FWYK and regressing to the older material is harder. i guess for some people that stuff is less accessible than FWYK.
so ya, i'd say start at the beginning and then move forward to the more recent material.

what do people think about a return of midtown? will it happen? if so, when? why or why not?
i personally don't think we'll see a midtown reunion in the near future, but i really wish we would see one. i've read things about heath hating the way gabe took over. if you compare their 3 albums...save the world was diverse in it's songwriters. on living well there was still some diversity, but more gabe and less heath/tyler. FWYK was "all songs written by gabriel saporta." hence the demise of midtown.

Gabe has said that we shouldn't rule one out. He doesn't want to half ass a reunion so it'll be at a time when they can get together and do it right. I think it'll happen, just not in the very near future because they all have their own projects going on right now. Gabe has also said many times that he's a perfectionist and can't do something without being able to completely throw himself into it. So, because he's got Cobra, and like I said everyone really has their own thing right now, a reunion won't be until everything else calms down a bit.

Aaaand....bump.
I'm stealing an idea from the STD and Get Up Kids thread, someone tell me their perfect Midtown mix tape because I really can't understand why it's so hard to get a good conversation going in here.
i'll try to help cause I love this band :-)
what is everyone favourite song of Midtown?
i'll have to say Like a Movie as some people mentioned in the first pages of this thread

i'll do more later but i'd put Like a Movie first, A Faulty Foundation second to last, and As Long as We Keep... last.

I don't know if I could pick one favorite song. I absolutely love Like a Movie, that's definitely a favorite. I'd probably have to say No Place Like Home though, I just think it's a beautiful song.

Exactly. I'm going to do it when I get home because I don't feel like I can accurately make a list while at work.

alrite guys ive just registered on the forum. used to check this website out everyday about 3 or 4 years ago but have lost touch with the scene since splitting with my old gf.
anyway i was searching midtown on google and came across the forum which made me put the old albums back on and i still love their music, also agree with the post about old skool drive-thru. used to be obsessed with their bands, got to see many of them live here in the uk. i have fond memories of seeing nfg with fenix tx and rx bandits supporting :)
do people remember the "rift" between midtown and drive-thru. i vaguely remember drive-thru throwing their toys out of the pram because the guys wanted to move to mca or something. what happened with that? did they kiss and make up
MOST IMPORTANTLY!! i was wondering if anyone on here can help me out. i used to have an mp3 of the original version of "faulty foundation" its longer than the living well.... version, it has a longer guitar intro.
does anyone have it? if so i would be VERY VERY HAPPY if you could send it me somehow. i cant believe i cant find it on my comp or my old cds. ill check back on here for any replies
