You are the record company.

After releasing the album to phenomenal hype and even greater reviews, Max Bemis's craft of love, insanity, and anger has put him in the spotlight of the punk/emo scene and some mainstream success (Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly), with some proclaiming him "the voice of a generation." Fresh off of a rerelease that marked the launch of the single "Alive With the Glory of Love," Say Anything was given generous play on college radio stations across the country and mtvU.

Now with an eagerly anticipated follow-up, we here at the record company want you to keep the band fresh in the public's mind...what better way to do that than with a great single?

Your job at the record company is to now suggest what would make the best second single of the available tracks on ...Is a Real Boy.

What song would you pick? Explain why your pick would make the best single and let's have some good musical discussion.

Remember: We are not looking for what you think is the best song...we want what will be the best single.

I would pick "Woe." I think that it is strikingly original for what's being played out there on the radio while remaining catchy enough to get people to have stuck in their head. Not only does this song give a good sense of what Say Anything sounds like, but people will be intrigued by the lyricism enough for interest to be had in the upcoming album. This song also has enough depth to warrant purchases of ...Is a Real Boy, unlike what I think some songs would in the eyes of your average consumer.

Belt, simply because everyone would love "what say you and all your friends..."

Totally agree with the person above me about Belt; more importantly, it's an intriguing song on first hearing as well. Wow would make an OK single as well, and 'I Want to Know Your Plans' would make a superb third single/token album ballad, and out of these songs only Woe is grounded in the semi-concept lyrical sentiments of the album.

the futile, or every man has a molly would generally do the best as singles i think.

All good choices, but I think they would probably choose 'Woe' simply because it is most marketable for the next single.

I voted every man has a Molly. I think it would bode well in the 'scene.' I would love to see Admit It as a single, but i know it never will.

Every Man has a Molly... catchy, reels you in at the beginning and the lyrics are just pure gold like the rest of the CD.

I put my money down on Every Man Has His Molly because it's by far the most pop punk of the CD and is definately a marketable song. Kids get a kick out of it too.

i want to know your plans could make them huge...great, catchy chorus and love lyrics. everything that a radio wants.

"i want to know your plans" would be fucking huge. it's a somewhat risky choice because it's slower/softer than the usual radio ballad, but i could see it going down as one of THE love songs of the 00's if they handled it properly.
