People. Get your collective head out of your collective ass. This forum has OD'd, and I'm John Travolta, injecting adrenaline directly into it's heart while it lies motionless on the floor.

Yeah, I'm bored

Topics to address in this thread

1) Album released this year that surprised you with its quality (or lack thereof). You are not allowed to discuss Brand New.

I was surprised that the new moneen CD wasn't better. They need to be seen live to appreciate methinks.

2) Grossest alcoholic drink you've ever had

I once had to drink something called a TKO. I think it was tequila, JD, and grand marnier. Why grand marnier? I don't know, but it tasted like poison.

3) What movie should Colin download and watch?

4) Best CLASSIC book you've read lately (classic meaning anything pre-1990 for the purposes of this thread)

I just read Breakfast of Champions again, and I thoroughly love that book.

5) Pictures of you in a suit.

Just because I look like a deer caught in the headlights (this was last weekend, and as you may have assumed, I was drinking extensively)

I dont own a suit and I don't care about the other questions, but two albums I was thoroughly impressed with are Rise Against- Revolutions Per Minute and None More Black- File Under Black.
These albums are EXCELLENT and they also prove that not all bands on Fat Wreck sound like NOFX.

Ok here goes...

1.) I was thoroughly impressed with Motion City Soundtrack's cd. I had planned to buy it after I heard osme of their stuff online, and I ofund it was pretty good, not great, but worth the 8 bucks I spent on it.

2.) Grossest drink? Well I can't go to bars so it'd be smirnoff lemon lime, it can't be mixed with ANYTHING (not even Sprite) to make it taste even decent. Grossest drink I've seen, I got drunk and peed in my friend's drink once which he promptly drank and I laughed at him for. That's kind of dirty though.

3.) Download the movie "Boondock Saints" classic movie...

4.)Best classic I've read was 1984. Is that a classic? I don't know, but it was damn good.

5.)Me in a suit. (This is a prom pic)

1) i haven't bought that many cd's lately, and the one's i have bought were released previous to this year. so besides brand new, the only other 2003 released cd i bought was afi "sing the sorrows." i thought that it was good, but different from their previous work, and a bit too commercialized for my liking.

2) grossest alcoholic drink? who knows, i hardly remember what i drink.

3) you should watch "confidence". it's a really great movie.

4) a tree grows in brooklyn. i love that book.

5) girls don't wear suits, and if i ever wore a pant suit type deal that girls do wear, i wouldn't have any pictures of it.

1) I was very impressed with Rise Against - Revolutions Per Minute. I was not impressed with Less Than Jake - Anthem, and its lack of horns.

2) Diet Pepsi, Bourbon, Captain Morgan and Smirnoff mixed together into a 20 oz Diet Pepsi bottle. I'm quite surprised the bottle didn't melt.

3) Boondock Saints or Dogma.

5) I haven't worn a suit since I was 2 and went to a wedding. [/B][/QUOTE]

1) I wasn't "suprised", because i knew they would kick ass, but "De-loused in the Comatorium" was awesome. I've listened to it 5 times in tle last 24 hours and it still rocks. The guitar is awesome solos, effects, and all, teh vocals are totally astounding in range, and flea kills it on th bass. the songs run long but i never notice because they are so good. The sound is innovative, especially considering they could've jsut cloned ATDI and been an instant success. The cd art was cool too, and the story behin the concept album is great. BAsically... buy the cd. if you like good music, you will like this.

5) Pictures of you in a suit.

2) It's called Moosehead Beer I think...it's the fucking nastiest thin I have ever drank.

3) Watch Peter Pan. That movie owns.

4) I don't read to many classics. But I read the Anne Of Green Gable series once

2)Grossest alcohol was just a straight shot of vodka, hate that shit, and I guess its just cuz i'm not an experienced drinker.

3)Scotland, pa...actually it wasnt that good, but it was the last movie I watched.

4)I just read Dracula, and that was damn good in certain parts, others it sucked. Plus Bram Stoker(the author) was gay I think, so beware.

Or maybe you have a sub-50 IQ and couldn't appreciate it.

You can't call something "one of the stupidest movies ever made", you can say you didn't like it, but don't pretend that you're some kind of ultimate authority dipshit.

I didn't watch narc yet, but im in the middle of downloading it. 12 Monkeys is next on my list, I love that movie.

And I think everyone is just intimidated after they saw my suit picture. They all knew they couldn't measure up. Boo-yah.

Colin, I thought you died. Glad to see you alive and well and all that jazz.

1. I'm gonna have to go with Mars Volta's "Deloused in a Comatorium" on this one. Not that it was a surprise.

2. One time we were playing King's Cup and the cup contained about 5 different brands of beer, along with some rum&coke, vodka, and a few other mixed drinks I don't remember. Needless to say, the whole concoction was pretty fucking nasty.

3. To all those who have said Boondock Saints, you guys know what's up. That movie owns. I'd also recommend Reservoir Dogs, Suicide Kings, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rounders, High Fidelity, and The Usual Suspects. Whoever said "Legally Blonde" needs to be shot in the face. And The Pianist is an absolutely beautiful movie. Adrien Brody kicked my ass all over the movie theater.

4. The three books of the Lord of the Rings trilogy are my favorite "classic" books, "The Return of the King" being the best. James Joyce's "Dubliners" and "Ulysses" blow my mind everytime I read them. That man was pure genius. I'm also a fan of "The Great Gatsby" and "Catcher in the Rye." And I don't think books are supposed to be in quotes, but I don't give a shit.

5. I don't wear suits, but I'm a fan of boys who do. It gives me an excuse to use my favorite pick-up line: "I don't believe in casual sex, so you're gonna have to keep the tie on."

Tremendous post. Funny because I read both the Great Gatsby and Catcher in the Rye over this past week (not that I hadn't read them before). Needless to say, I've had alot of free time.

And if Adrien Brody kicked your ass that bad, you might want to think about pressing charges.

I always read a shitload of books during the summer. I could actually use some suggestions, if you've read anything good lately.

And I don't want to press charges against Adrien Brody for kicking my ass, because I liked it...in that so-good-it-hurts kinda way.

Read Flann O'Brien's At-Swim Two Birds (not quite sure of the placement of the hyphen in the title).
