I've heard 3 recorded tracks and 5 others live, this is an early contender for album of the NEXT year for me, even though it is just a bit early. I love the Shins. They rock like none other.

And it's been preordered.

This whole album is phenomenal. One of my favorite records of the last 2 or 3 years. Its the perfect progression for them as a band in terms of the production and arrangement.

I love how the record leaked like 2 months ago. I feel terrible for the band that it leaked so early, but they definitely should be proud of the record. It's definitely a big step in production as NYC27 said

such a superb album. they are taking an excellent next step in their careers and i can't wait to see what they do in the future. Sleeping Lessons is by far my favorite song, brilliant progression throughout the entire album.

I find this record very disappointing. They should have kept recording in James' basement. On top of the unfortunate production only a few of these songs are that enjoyable. And this is coming from somone who loves Oh, Inverted World and really liked Chutes Too Narrow.
