The Graduate Dominate College Radio

The Graduate (http://www.myspace.com/thegraduaterock) dominated the last add week of CMJ for 2006 as the band's EP Horror Show came in as the "#1 most added record" at college radio last week. The Springfield, IL 5-piece will release their highly-anticipated Icon MES Records (http://www.iconmes.com/) debut Anhedonia on April 10th, 2007 (http://www.absolutepunk.net/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2087&day=2007-4-10) and will be announcing a full-scale US tour shortly.

Don't get me wrong, The Graduate are great and they were my number one add at WOBN (http://www.wobn.net), but there really wasn't much competition. In college radio, there are very very few records going for adds in the month of December, let alone the last chart. However, they did beat out bands such as Babyshambles (Pete Doherty--Kate Moss' drugged out boytoy, or ex-boy toy) and The Shys (Warner Bros. Records minor leaguer)

Yeah, the semester is winding down. My station had exactly five adds (the limit to the number of bands you can list for "Top Adds") so there was no way I could NOT put them on mine.

Just reviewed their cd for my colleges radio station and I must say, Confidence is Everything is one of the best tracks out their right now. :-) It is a great album, get it.
