as much as i love glassjaw, i almost hope they screw this new album up and lose whatever fans they have left, as punishment for daryl unleashing head automatica onto the world

He's hopeful for a new album in 2007. That's good. ...But I don't have my hopes up.

Wasn't this obvious when all the ticket links on their site were to Deftones shows?

Yeah, it's old news.

Chances of GJ actually playing most of these shows?

Don't hold your breath.

Interesting little piece submitted to our news box:
Last night my friends and I went to see Glassjaw and Deftones in Nashville at City Hall. We were given free tickets by a Camel cigarettes representative to the "invite-only" show. Obviously we were pretty stoked to get to see these two bands, especially Glassjaw being their first show back. We arrive at the venue around two and a half hours early and get in line, which has already stretched around the building. To make a longer story shorter, at around 8:45 we hear Glassjaw start playing a new song from inside the building which we are still in line for outside. We only inch toward the door over the period of the next 30 minutes which Glassjaw plays as we are taunted by hearing them play and can't get in to see them. After the Glassjaw set ends, we are literally standing two people outside of the door when they abruptly close the door quietly and announce to the crowd "We're SO sorry, but we're at capacity and can't allow anyone else inside the building." So there are between two or three HUNDRED people standing outside the door in line with their Camel cigarette "tickets" to the show and aren't going to be allowed in.

Apparently Camel decided to give away hundred of more tickets than what would actually be let into the building. City Hall holds 1200 people and I estimate Camel gave away between 1500-2000 tickets to this event. Also, the venue sold tickets "accidently" on Ticketmaster according to the Camel representative, which everyone who had a TM ticket that they paid for was allowed in, regardless of capacity. The girl in front of me was crying because she had paid $120 on eBay for her tickets that were given away free in the Nashville area and she was the first person in line that couldn't get in. Needless to say, there were a lot of pissed off people in that line. When asked what our chances were of getting in between 1-100, the security guard at the front door responded with "probably less than zero."

This has not only happened in Nashville but in previous cities on this tour and I'm sure it will happen on future cities as well. Everyone should know if you are going with your Camel ticket that you probably won't get in unless you're 3+ hours early. Oh yeah, fuck Camel for doing this and fuck whoever decided this would be a cool idea. It's unethical and unprofessional.

yeah we knew about them opening for the deftones like a month ago (as a matter of fact the shows have already started), why not focus the news posting on the important thing, which is the fact that they are planning a new glassjaw release.

The article is good, informative and gives new information. It's just that the title of this news post is old.

the main reason they cancelled all of those shows is because daryl ain't edge no more. and apparently doing tons of smack doesn't go so well with crohn's disease

the truth hurts, dude. maybe i dish out the truth like an asshole, but it's still the truth. daryl exacerbated his condition by doing drugs and ended up in the hospital multiple times. head automatica is like listening to your grandmother have an abortion.
