What can you tell us about the bands DVD, Shit Happens and it's content?
I don't even know if it can be described in human terms (laughs). I'm gonna have to speak in a way like a dolphin because it's the only way I can convey what it has on it. Anyway, it's just the past few years of us being dick heads really. I think it will make a lot of people dislike us as people.
Do you think it was the right time in the bands career to put out a DVD?
Yeah, I think so..uhhh I don't neccesarily think every band should put out a DVD. I didn't ever really think that we should, I just kind of realized that what we're doing is kind of funny and I wished we had it on tape. I also see some of the shit coming out on band DVD's and it's just like, "I don't want to watch this crap." You know, DVD's that do nothing but stroke the bands ego. That's not what Shit Happens is like at all. We're definately not sitting there talking about what our songs mean to us (laughs).
The band has been on the road for almost the whole year now, have you guy's had the chance to concentrate on writing new material?
Kind of. I'm always just writing ideas and lyrics. I know Andy is always putting out some riffs here and there. I think this is the first time we're actually warming up to write where as we're usually like "Oh my god, we're not on tour anymore, we have to start writing the next disc."
Have you lined up a schedule for tracking the next effort?
Well...we have to be out of the studio by May 13th in order to get it out during the summer.
Are you considering going back into the studio with Machine?
We are all still talking about it. We have a lot of options, but Machine is definetely someone we would like to go back and work with. I kind of want to go back to the more chaotic stuff we
used to do on the next album.
I was talking to Carl over at Ferret, he said the band would be touring well into 2007. What have you got planned?
It's kind of to early to tell. We're always talking to Underoath and we'll probably end up on a big summer festival. Carl doesn't know shit (laughs).
Now we all know you like to speak your mind about the bands you dislike in this industry, but what bands do you respect?
Nobody! (laughs). There's a lot of bands I respect. My Chemical Romance I respect a lot. Umm, this band Attack In Black from Canada. They're fucking amazing. There's plenty out there, even the bands I said I disliked, I still respect. Even Panic! At The Disco. They have a good thing going for them. I'm even starting to enjoy their music. Alright, that's it. I'm going to have to start biting my tongue.
When you die and go to heaven, and Saint Peter greets you at the pearly gates, what will he say?
(insane amount of laughter) Did you ever see that SNL skit where they ask that about, oh god, it was in the actors studio or something. I forget. Anyway, I think he'll say "Whaaaaasssss upppppppp."
What's up with Roman Carnival of 1510?
(laughs) I don't know. Me and Chris from Underoath had some good stuff going on Warped. Underoath had to leave though to deal with some band stuff. We had some great stuff going. I actually haven't spoken to him since Warped. We'll see what happens.
Alright, last question. Is Andy still working on The Wild Dogs? The group he claims sounds like AC/DC with balls.
(laughs). I think he's always working on that shit. Who knows.
Thanks for your time, Keith.
No problem.
