Right now on craigslist, I see 7 PS3s for sale at retail, and I have seen plenty of them on forums for sale at retail price. It just took me 6 days to find a DS Lite (I found a white yesterday, but I needed a pink). I've been at Best Buy and Meijer twice that have had PS3s in Stock.
Markup on Wiis are like $100
Markup on DS Lites are like $50
No Markup on PS3s!

i believe it will fail if for no other reason than it currently sells retail for $600 while an XBOX 360 can be had for $400...
add in the fact that PS3's are relatively more scarce and it's almost inevitable..

BTW, check out on ebay how many are going for around $660-700 (About retail)

...plus Halo 3 looks amazing so I'm stoked about getting a 360 for Christmas..
The PS3 will fail, because YOU, Kyle Garchar, happened to find a store with them in stock?
Uhm, yeah. Every other store is sold out. And they are selling systems with no real good launch game to move consoles. Wait till developers get the system down, make good games, then let's judge.

Yeah. Everyone said Halo 2 looked amazing after the short CG clip that came out -- then everyone said it sucked and played Halo 1.
I just don't get it. It's a video. It didn't show any gameplay, but people act like its Bill Gates gift from God.

besides, im not an xbox fanboy though i do love the selection of games for XBOX
...but I love Ninteno near equally for Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, etc.
I've owned Nintendo and XBOX systems but never a Sony ssytem...I just never really liked the choice of games or ever got into Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, etc....
me neither it looks intense...

I wasn't touting Sony's first party development by any means.
But their exclusives were good (until they fucked up) with getting every GTA game until it was a greatest hit, getting Final Fantasy, and getting other games from Square (Dragon Quest, etc.). I don't like MGS, but people love it as a franchise.
But then Sony went and bit the big one and now everyone gets GTA, Everyone but them gets FF, Dragon Quest is going to the Wii, and they managed to keep MGS.
My favorite console for gameplay is still the Nintendo. Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Metroid, Wario Games, Mario Party, etc....But I enjoy the Playstation for GTA games and Sports games and Final Fantasy. Which is why I will eventually pick up a PS3.

I haven't gotten it yet, but I told my brother to get it for me for Christmas. I doubt I'll invest too much time into the single player mode, but as a multiplayer game it should hold me over until Mario Party, Smash Bros and all those other great Nintendo games.
Rayman was fun while it lasted, but the replay value is really meh and the multiplayer is mostly switching back and forth.....which in my mind really kills the entire point of going multi.
What have you been playing? Sorry you're gettin sick, and yeah hardcore Wii boxing wouldn't help it much.

I haven't played Zelda because I don't want to get all into it then have to leave, forget where I was, and start over. I know right now my gamesave is in the forest temple with the 3 monkeys ready to go get the Boomerang -- so I haven't touched it. I'm hoping my dad will beat it then give me the wii, but he's not done yet. I think he just got to the Sky Temple.
I rented Madden and have a friend coming over to play it tomorrow, but mostly I've been playing Mario 64. It's easy enough to not get too wrapped up into, and if my dad sees I'm putting money into the system (wavebird(s)/mario 64) he may be more apt to give it to me. Or so I hope.
Alright guys,
I'm gonna head out. Shower, Make Lunch, and start on season 2 of scrubs. Maybe wrap the gifts I have if I feel so ambitious.

something i wrote in another thread:
quote...
mad pluses and minuses with all the systems. i have a 360 now but had a ps2 before. i'll just list everything ive been thinkin about (the pros and cons have been driving me crazy)
as a background, i didn't have the xbox. i had a ps2. i really wanted the ps3 until i found out hte prices. i got my 360 like around Thanksgiving this year. i've had ps2 since december '02.
based on what i know...
Wii (i know least about the wii, sorry):
+ new controlling system we all know, better party games
+ exclusive games would kick ass if they put the wiimote to good use
+ feels like an arcade at home. makes you wanna get up and play, but...
- ...makes you wanna get up. maybe it's cuz i play longer games or shooters, but i gotta sit down for hours when i play. probably why minigames are better with wii.
- all them japanese games similar to those of the DS. all those minigames and stuff. not my kind of games at least. but i'm a shooter and free roam kind of guy.
- try playing a four player game. watch out for your friends' faces
- it would be hard to get PS3/Xbox360 games for Wii cuz of the different programming setup.
- turning in an FPS looks like it sucks but i don't know, haven't tried it. i mean aiming is interesting but try whipping your head around fast in the game
- graphics aren't special.
- headset? guide button? no? i'm not sure
PS3:
+ excellent graphics. whoops all else
- without HD, it's kinda pointless to be comparing graphics these days.
+ as always, exclusive games kick ass. if the company could put all their money into the game for one system and not have to worry about making it programmable for other systems, it would be good.
+ MGS, SOCOM, Tekken...
+ came after 360 and along with wii. all the ideas were made by other companies but sony put them together into one system.
- has what, at least 4 USB ports or something? they just wanted to beat xbox360. don't let that be a plus because come on...when are you ever gonna use a cam, usb stick, all that shit at the same time. i can't even think of 4 things unless you include controller chargers.
- the most expensive one. your choice in buying it is dependent on whether or not you have a job
- discs store a lot. the more the disc stores, the more you gotta be careful. bending by gravity is bad. store vertically
+- PS3 is gonna last so much longer than the other nextgens if you think about it. if they can store that much, how long would it take to come out with a PS4? how long would it take for them to put the entire disc capacity to use before it's time for another generation?i can't decide plus or minus. i may even be wrong, i just thought of that.
- not many games out now. might as well wait a little over a year so it's a bit cheaper and games are more abundant. a lot of the 360 games that are already out are coming for ps3 like march next year earliest (from what i've seen)
360:
+ dashboard rocks. i love the multitasking. talk with your friends during single player games, achievements, whatever. scary part in a game? put on some peanut butter jelly time and roll through the level
+ exclusive games are pretty good. Dead Rising, Halo, Gears of War. aside from halo, they weren't really begun in xbox, but they're probably starting now. you know how playstation "grew up" with mgs and socom and tekken. well 360 may be kicking these off.
+ i think having Halo alone deserves its own comment. after all, i'm going to college next year and i KNOW they got tournaments and shit in the dorms lol
+ Halo is NEVER gonna be for other systems cuz its made by microsoft. that deserves another comment.
+ online marketplace. it's mad cool. buy games like DOOM, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter, etc. they keep comin out with new ones and free trials too. theyre like 7 dollars worth of points each, but you buy 6.25 dollars worth of points at a time only. so to get one game you gotta spend 12.50 and have extra points left over
+ neither expensive nor inexpensive. to me, wii seems like the small time gamer lookin for fun on weekends, PS3 seems for hardcore gamers. if i got a ps3 i'd play like every night to put that money to good use. 360 seems to be right in the middle and it's great so far for me.
+ early bird. all the games i got for plain ol' ps2 were for 360 in different versions.
- early bird. had defects on launch but it's fine now. ideas are better with ps3 obviously though cuz its later
- D-pad sucks lol. i like the playstation d-pad personally. use the 360 dpad and see what i mean
- only nextgen with a disc tray LOL but...
+ i guess it really doesn't matter so let's cancel out that - with a +.
- xbox live costs money and i can see that hurting me in the future, but i don't know what it's like without it. it comes with a month free after purchase and my friend bought me 13 months. thanks dude! so yeah i guess the XBL fees suck, but...
+ everybody's gonna be on it so it's worth it. get a job
sorry can't think of much else lol. btw a lot of that stuff i thought up on the spot and haven't really researched, so dont be rude in the replies please lol. im watching scarface and i still have to start homework and it's around midnight so can't really concentrate. leave comments and i'll probably return. i really hope this helps people
...end quote.

i had just bought a 360 and i wasnt sure if it was wise choice. i keep thinking ps3 was an option but it wasn't lol. too much money. i really don't know what i can consider the best. the three systems are like apples and oranges...and i guess bananas. bananas being nintendo because of donkey kong, apples being ps3 because apples taste good but leave your hand all sticky so you won't play as much if you have to keep washing your hands, and oranges being the 360 because it starts off with the skin around it (360s set on fire on launch LOL) but once you get the skin off, it's kickass. plus if you have clementines you don't have to wash your hands after.

While Microsoft might have a legitimate worry with the 360, it's plainly obvious to me that it's too early to be calling the PS3 in trouble. I mean every single one they've manufactured and shipped has sold shortly after arriving at the store (or well in advance). That's hardly a sales failure (although it is a supply failure). More importantly, rough launches have hardly doomed consoles in the past. Both the PSx and especially PS2 had rough launches and look how they turned out.
There are a lot of things you can criticize about the PS3, but the sales are not one of them. Really, you can't say much at all about the sales until they start sitting on the shelves for more than 5 minutes. Even if total sales during the holidays are slow due to lack of supply, it doesn't really matter that the total volume is low until the boxes finally stop selling instantly.
Furthermore, the converse of the thread starter is that that Sony intelligently priced the PS3 near the market-clearing price, rather than below it creating an opportunity for arbitrage. Since Sony is in business to make money for Sony, not a horde of e-Bay resellers, the lack of an e-Bay premium isn't, in and of itself, a bad sign.

well the point i was trying to make is even if a fanboy of nintendo did like some sony games, they would still bash it, because for some reason people really care about the "console war". It seems pretty pointless to care unless you work for Sony/M$/Nintendo. I guess people don't want the feeling like they wasted their money.

I'm making the point that the PS3 will ultimately fail, and Nintendo still rules.
Give it til next year, and the Playstation 3 will increase in sales. Due to the fact that only Resistance: Fall of Man shows off the true power of the system (and it's the best game on the console right now), I think people are holding off. It's way too early to call the Playstation 3 a total failure. And out of the three systems, the Playstation 3 is holding the best exclusive games: Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4 (don't believe the hype that it is coming to the 360. Kojima doesn't want to do it, and it appears Konami is just trying to force him to follow through. Knowing Kojima, he won't let his project go to another system if possible), etc. It'll be interesting what will come out of the Playstation 3, so don't let it let you down yet.
Remember the Xbox 360 launch? That had such amazing titles as Perfect Dark: Zero...yeah. Once games like Dead Rising, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and the overrated (but still pretty decent) Gears of War were shown, that is when the 360 began to get better. But after those games, what do we really have there? You have Halo 3, which looks like Halo 2 except shinier. Hopefully Halo 3 wil totally kill the franchise like the dreadly Halo 2 did. Microsoft's systems run off of the Halo games and that only, and it's the only games really keeping them strong. There are some good games out there, but it seems like everyone only cares about Halo. Rumor has it that Microsoft is going to do this: release a Gears of War for every even year and a Halo game for every odd year. Yeah, that shows what they are riding on: only two game franchises.
As for the Wii, you have one of the best launch titles ever: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. But the question is: how will the gimmick hold up? How many third party developers will try to support the Wii? Yeah, there are big hitters like Super Mario Galaxy and Metriod Prime 3: Corruption, but the future of the Wii could possibly be in jeporday due to the fact that third parties have yet to get a hold on how to do the system's controller well. I know I don't want another Red Steel or Elebits coming out any time soon. But if the third party developers can pull through, Wii will take over.
For me, I'll stick with my Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 is still kicking on some great games, so I'm happy with what I got.

you put down the 360 too much. im not saying this cuz i have one, though it does affect how i feel, and i never said ps3 fails, but you put down the 360 and what it has too much. fail to mention the absence of the ps3's rumble capabilities or its higher price? taking the console itself, i think all the ps3 has over the 360 is graphics because it can store so much more. sounds good though, but im just sayin. would i give up rumble for motion sensing controllers? personally, no.

Ps3s aren't too tough to find right now. Wiis are incredibly tough to find. And Nintendo has shipped more than Sony... which isn't good news for Sony at all.
I think honestly the demand for this console was never very high. It just seemed that way because everyone lined up to buy one... to Ebay it. Not many people actually found the 500-600 dollar price tag worth it.
'And out of the three systems, the Playstation 3 is holding the best exclusive games: Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4 (don't believe the hype that it is coming to the 360.'
Um... I don't know, some people would argue that Zelda, Metroid, and Mario are 3 pretty big exclusives. Especially since they are GUARANTEED Nintendo exclusives, whereas who knows what is going to happen to Sony "exclusives" this time around.

Put down the 360? I'm not bias againist any system, but it's the truth: the 360 gets it's main support from the Halo series and that is about it. There are always a couple of good games that are out there, but the real reason the 360 is going to be strong for the next couple of years is the fact Microsoft is putting out a Halo and Gears of War every other year.
The rumble feature has been overused to death ever since Nintendo came up with the idea, man. There are only so many times I can take my controller rumbling on my balls. And the price doesn't bother me one bit, because you're basically paying for a game system and a Blu-Ray DVD player. I do, though, think the Blu-Ray disc thing is going to fail quicker than the PSP's UMD. Mark that one up as a bad move for Sony. If they would take out that unnesscary (and stupid) Blu-Ray feature the system would be cut in half.
But when you think about it, it's not the console itself: it's the games. And in the long run, the Playstation 3 has the better quality and more diverse titles, while the Wii has a bigger selection of more interactive games. The 360 has great sleeper hits but rely on the fact that the Halo and Gears of War franchises are profitable. I highly doubt a game like Mass Effect will do good when it comes out, mostly because people would rather play something else.

Yeah, and playstation 3 rides on what, the hope of biased playstation owners? we'll see.
See, that's the point where people are going to think you're just a Microsoft fanboy.
Trust me, when key titles come out next year, the Playstation 3 will begin to sale...just like the Wii will sale like hotcakes when Super Mario Galaxy comes out. I think it's kind of bias that you're dissing a system that hasn't even been out for two months yet.

^^^ But PS3 will ALWAYS have its price working against it. First off it is very uncertain whether both MGS 4 and FF XIII will actually hit next year. I'd expect delays. And second even if they do people will still look and say "PS3 has this and that, Wii has this and that, 360 has this and that... and I can get a Wii AND a 360 for the price of a PS3."
I don't know. I think Sony is in trouble right now. It won't tank or anything... but I expect a huge marketshare loss this generation.

everything bioware has put out on xbox has sold very well, bioshock is gonna be huge, from what i hear blue dragon turned out very well, and the difference in diversity is going to be less apparent with this cycle of systems simply because development costs require multi-platform releases much more so then then in the past.

I'm eagerly anticapating Blue Dragon, and hopefully Capcom will wise up and make a Dead Rising 2. (One of the best games on the 360 and the one I've enjoyed the most next to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Condemned: Crimial Orgins.) I think Bioshock will be a game that will have a large reception, but I don't think it's going to be an extremely huge hit.
The game I'm looking forward to, though? The Darkness. I'm pretty sure that is going to be the sleeper hit for next year.
I don't really think that the diversity is going to be less apparent. Multi-platform games have always done rather good, but to keep a massive base on sales, the consoles themselves are going to have to keep some exclusives. That is why the Playstation 3 has the core Final Fantasy series, the 360 has the Halo series, and the Wii has all of Nintendo's top properties. While some franchises (Grand Theft Auto) have become multi-platform, the makers of the consoles are going to try to keep some games on their own system. (And that is where the money comes in.) I'm pretty sure that we'll see more multi-platform games, but we won't see Final Fantasy XIII on any other console anytime soon.

It's not a good comparison to say the Wii will be selling like hotcakes when Mario comes out, because that's just a few months away and as of now, the Wii IS selling like hotcakes, say January slows down a bit, February is mediocre, and then a bit sales spike in March. That's hardly any "down" time at all. And that's just assuming there is some lull in sales. Could turn out that the Wii sells like wild up until and past that point. We don't know yet.

Since Sony is in business to make money for Sony, not a horde of e-Bay resellers, the lack of an e-Bay premium isn't, in and of itself, a bad sign.
i don't think the ps3 is in trouble at all
in fact i think it's silly that some people are saying that the wii is kicking the ps3's ass in terms of sales when it is to be expected based on the price and the launch games
sony won't let the ps3 fail

first of all i saw you being a real playstation goer in your post. how else could you mention all the pluses of the playstation 3 while putting the 360 and wii after it with their negative qualities included?
ok well the rumble feature, though "overused", is very valuable to me at least. it's just one of those things to me that is really worth it. it's not technologically advanced or anything, it just helps keep me in the mood. i played Goldeneye for N64 once and i was like WTF. it may not be important to you but it is to me.
and speaking of technologically advanced, you're right about the ps3: it is very dependent on the new technology. that's not bad, it's just i'm not buying a 300 dollar HDTV and i'm not spending an extra 200 bucks for the playstation. i didn't even buy the HDTV for the 360, so it's not like graphics are that much to me. it's great that graphics are getting so much better, but how long will graphics matter when you're soaked into the game for hours? im sure hardcore gamers feel differently, but that's just me. would i buy an HDTV because i bought the ps3? no. with those two, that's 700-900 bucks right there. if i had a job and had been saving up for a year, that's different.
and about halo and GOW coming out every other year...i guess you weren't informed that the next halo is the last one. that's all. maybe they'll get something new. you never know. i know they're coming out with halo wars, an RTS (and yeah, when they come out with the RTS, you know they're just taking the halo name and pulling it as far as consumers will go). but that's all i can think of. that's their way of making money.
sony's way of making money, as i've experienced with the ps2, is selling everything separately. i really don't know about the ps3, cuz it comes with so much stuff, but iwth the ps2, it was like okay, buy a multitap if you want, buy the HDD, buy the network adapter, remote control infrared sensor, etc. then the slim ps2 had all that stuff in it and made more sales. then with the slim ps2, you need a different multitap, sell your network adapter for much much lower than for how much you bought it if you had the original ps2 before, etc.
playstation has metal gear solid and they're really lucky. microsoft began with xbox whereas sony began with playstation, which was one gen before xbox. with playstation they got to kick off with tekken and metal gear solid. xbox had halo. idk what else they had, i wasnt really into it. but i'm just sayin, playstation technically got a head start. it's not something i'm holding on to as an excuse to how xbox has less exclusives.
plus, it looks like xbox360 is coming out with a bunch of great new one-time games. dead rising being a great game but i don't think we're looking at sequel material.

i however mention exclusive games sometimes because it seems to be important in system success when in reality a system can come out with whatever it wants to.

I'm guessing one of those big 3 (Mario?) will hit in summer and the other two for fall/Christmas.
Either way Wii will continue selling very well throughout the entire year. I saw some analyst saying that the demand/supply issue will keep Wiis nearly soldout through most of February/March.

really? that sucks, everything I've read has had Mario coming out in March, but you could be right, I've not kept up on it lately.
I hope you're wrong though, I can't wait for the new Mario
-Mario for the wii was given a nine month window to come out sometime between March and Dec. Odds are Nintendo will hold off releasing it for a bit to push more sales in the holiday season.
-Metroid is coming out in the summer I believe. Other first party titles coming are Mario Party, Wii Play (which was delayed into March I believe), and Smash. Wario is coming out in January.
-People saying Sony's sales are dropping...where are you getting this? They are completely selling everything off the shelves, and no store is keeping them in stock for more than a few hours. Nintendo is doing the same. Nintendo was just able to produce more systems, so they sell more. Anyone doubting the PS3's ability to sell -- look at the ebay prices. Even if they aren't "much" higher than retail, the point is that they are selling for more at all. Besides, $600 for a system is already high anyways. Asking people to spend much more is kind of crazy.
-How many people are using the philosophy of waiting to get a PS3 until either a price drop or a game comes out to sell it or waiting until they can get one at retail price? I'm in that boat. People that want the Final Fantasy series (XIII, not debating the future of the series), Metal Gear Solid (which I have seen no indications of it going to another console. It's Japanese developers -- so they aren't going to support Microsoft. And they only did one title on Nintendo, so that's why Snake is in Smash) Series, or any other big title will hold off.
-I read an article, I can't find the link. I'm assuming it was posted off one of the blogs I check (Gizmodo, Engadget, or Joystiq), but basically it was saying the Xbox 360 will be technologically obsolete and outdated in a year. With systems simply changing their video card and processors in this generation (except Nintendo), they are becoming the equivalent of PCs, which are also pushed to the brink with each new game engine out, and only have a shelf life of a couple years. Expect to see the same with the 360, and probably the PS3.
-Lastly, why are we debating this when 2 of the systems aren't in full supply? I still say wait until PS3s or Wii are sitting on shelves and collecting a thin layer of dust before declaring any system a flop.

Perhaps it's just my area, but a Best Buy just 15-20 minutes across the river from St. Louis had 6 PS3's sitting around yesterday. Perhaps they sold today, but I have seen some PS3's sitting on the shelf, and I'm yet to see a Wii except for the one I bought on Launch Date.

I'd buy them then. Everything I've read online says they are still hard to get a hold of.
I check CraigsList quite regularly (I have the for sale section bookmarked on my favorites bar), and I see them listed quite regularly.
Sure, that doesn't mean they are selling ... but if people think there is still difficulty in getting them and charging a premium, I would assume they were lucky to find them in the store.

i think you're right. 360 will probably be outdated. but is it useless? no. i'm kind of ashamed of its small-storage discs. im not sayin that the minimum required is the 50GB blu ray but what does it store, like 8-10 GB? i watched a video on halo 3 and they said that they pushed the graphics to as far as it can go. and i was thinking, "already?"
and you said "With systems simply changing their video card and processors in this generation (except Nintendo)..." So if you're saying the 360 is outdated because the nextgen systems are far more advanced than it (except the Wii), aren't you just saying the ps3 is better?
i wish i got to experience all the systems equally. i own a 360, i saw a ps3 once in a store with a tv that probably didn't support the same resolution cuz it looked a little weird and im sure it's not the playstation's fault, and i used a wii for a bit too and saw its graphics capabilities.
like i've said, it's apples and oranges. 360 was early, doesn't hold as much for graphics compared to ps3, but has good exclusives, has a fair price, etc. ps3 is expensive, doesn't have the games im looking for, but the graphics are impeccable (that's a word, right?)
i keep finding myself regretting buying the 360 but i keep forgetting that ps3 wasn't an option for me at the time of the purchase. too expensive. plus i wouldn't have played the halos if i didn't get the 360. instead of halo, halo 2, gears of war, dead rising, the burger king games, perfect dark zero, ghost recon, and far cry, with a ps3 i would have played resistance: fall of man. which isn't bad. but for 200 bucks more, idk. plus another 50 or so for the game.
and i didn't pay for any of the games i listed for 360 except gears of war and one burger king game (big bumpin') so money wasnt an issue there.
with the ps3, i wouldn't have had the opportunity to borrow all those games from friends cuz its new.
again, ps3 wasn't an option for me, yet regret keeps returning. i have to keep reminding myself of my original plan: to buy a ps3 in a year or a wii in a year, depending on how they do within the time period.
anybody have all three systems or have had extreme experience with all three?
and you said "With systems simply changing their video card and processors in this generation (except Nintendo)..." So if you're saying the 360 is outdated because the nextgen systems are far more advanced than it (except the Wii), aren't you just saying the ps3 is better?

1) Yes. As of now, the capabilities of the PS3 are better. Component wise, its a better system. That is why it costs more, and that is why it took longer. In a couple years, both will have outdated technology.
Which is really sad.
2) I know there is someone here (at least one person) that has all 3 systems.

1) Yes. As of now, the capabilities of the PS3 are better. Component wise, its a better system. That is why it costs more, and that is why it took longer. In a couple years, both will have outdated technology.
Which is really sad.
2) I know there is someone here (at least one person) that has all 3 systems.
so yeah, the potential that the ps3 has is so much more than the others. xbox is reaching its potential with halo 3, then comes innovation, where they use the same disc space to make better games. like ps2 started off with games like splinter cell where loads were everywhere...then they learned to go around that with san andreas where loading was on the spot. same disc space, but looked like it was better.
they're reaching innovation with the 360, it's only a matter of a couple years till it's used up. great games may still be released, but they wont be fantastic graphics wise and other stuff.
ps3 will be ridiculous though. it stores so much data so games now are gonna be great. when will they use up all the disc space?
you may think that ps3 is awesome cuz the discs store so much, but it sucks that the other systems aren't following their pattern. what i mean is, xbox 360 doesnt store so much so they'll have to come out with a new system before ps3 plans on it, cuz ps3 is gonna last a long time with all that data capability at hand. wii also, because of graphics probably, they'll get better discs. this is all just wild guesses, but what i'm saying is that microsoft and nintendo will need to make new systems before sony will have to. that may sound cool but when the next console war breaks out, will ps3 be too advanced to spend money on a new system, but not advanced enough to keep up with the next nextgens?
(i know i leave mad long posts. i just log in when i wake up and when i go to sleep when i have free time lol.)
oh and yeah it's cool. i didnt mean to be a jerk either before
How is no one banned in this thread?
hahaha srsly
aka poor people/Wii-haters?
no, a.k.a. smart people who realize awesome games are still being released for PS2 that they can take advantage of while they wait for the first generation systems to get all the bugs out and then buy a PS3 at the end of next year

In the long run, I see all systems doing well. Honestly, between the PS3 and the 360, the 360 will probably come out on top due to its affordable price point and wider variety of games.
I think Sony will encounter some troubles in the future due to the astronomical development costs for PS3 games. Smaller third-party companies are not going to want to make games for the PS3 because they're not guaranteed profit. However, most consumers are drawn in by the pretty graphics and the blu-ray player (which I can't see doing well), and will eventually buy the PS3 when the price drops.
On the other hand, Wii is seen as an opportunity for smaller developers. Not only is it very cheap to develop for the system, but they're given more creative freedom to make the game run however they want. The other systems only have two analog sticks, a D-Pad, a few buttons, and some triggers. That's the extent of control for a videogame. With the Wii, there are an infinite amount of ways to control it, leading to a whole mess of exclusives, which is where the profit comes from.
Plus, the Wii is a party system, so more people will invest in extra controllers/nunchucks leading to even more profit.

yeah. for my birthday it was either a new guitar (400), xbox360 (410), or wii (260). no way could i ask for something that's 500-600. i'd feel nothing but regret if i knew that i had asked for a 500 dollar system and i still need money for some games.
haven't systems been priced new at 300-350 forever? why all of a sudden there's the need to include everything when you buy it? if nextgens go for 600 bucks from now on, i'm gonna kill myself.
50 bucks says wii comes out with a new duckhunt. just throwin that out there.
i still think the 360 is the perfect mix of nextgen graphics, gameplay, and ideas, along with the old price and actual feeling of videogames.
xbox360 at 400 bucks for premium. i play it and it feels like i'm playing something i spent 400 bucks on. i'm playing the new games including exclusives, storing it on my HD using my wireless controller talking to my friends on the headset. i like the dashboard and guide button, it's cool. ps3's premium does the same but bigger hard drive and 200 bucks more, no guide/dashboard? i'm not sure. what im tryin to say is if playing a 360 feels like i'm playing something worth 400 bucks, does playing a ps3 feel like 600?
and all i can think of is guitars and amps for comparisons now, so lets just say:
wii graphics are like acoustic guitars; you got all you need and you don't need an HDTV. it's at its potential without the amp.
360s are like acoustic/electrics. 360ers have the option of HDTV. idk if a lot of 360 owners have HDTVs though. it's not a must. not to me at least. if you want to plug your acoustic electric guitar in, go ahead. if not, it still sounds good.
with ps3, HDTV is a must definitely, with the spectacular graphics and blu-ray player. i'd say ps3 is for the rich and hardcore. if you own a ps3 without an HDTV, that's like playing a electric guitar without an amp; yeah you got small sound, but it's not worth just playing the guitar if you're never getting an amp. and i don't think i'd ever get a 600 dollar guitar with a (minimum) 300 dollar amp
poor analogy? it's all i could think of.
btw you can copy what i just said, put it in quotes, and put my name next to a dash under it cuz that analogy took some energy to think of.
