If anyone would answer this question I would be very grateful, it is for a piece of university coursework. Many thanks. I need to conduct a research project into:

'Where did punk style and it's politics come from?'

The question is also on survey monkey:

The question is grammatically incorrect. If it's gonna be used for coursework I'd suggest fixing it so your professor doesn't lower your grade over something stupid.

Punk style came originally from the Sex Pistols. They were pretty much the first boy band though, because their manager Malcom Mclaren just put them together to market his clothing line. He owned a leather and bondage clothing store in London called Sex. Thats where the studded belts, jackets, crazy hair and working boots came from- making punk (at least at its inception) a marketing tool. As for the politics, thats a different story. The politics pretty much come from dissatisfied working class youth, whether its British or American punk, or anywhere else in the world. American punk in the 80's (hardcore) was reactionary to the sweeping conservative views of Washington and Reagans administration. British punk has more socialist leanings than anything else. European punk tends to have communist leanings, and so on down the line. Hope this helped.

'Punks' were the guys who would suck dicks for cigarettes in prison back when the term was coined...

i don't think there really is a punk style/politics..........there is the stereotype that everyone who creates or enjoys music in the punk genre is a radical leftist, with a drug habit, and way to many tats/piercings and/or a crazy hair-do though.

The title was already set, any grammar issues did not originate from me. And yes, two topics... Maybe once you've left school and attend higher education, you too may be able to answer two topics in one essay.

Why so defensive? haha. I'm pretty sure your teacher did not hand you a prompt with "it's politics" in it.

Last time a checked punk-style was music and a general, negative attitude and display of apparel.
Bunch of kids that that fight so hard to stand for something, when in irony, they all look the exact same.
